Friday Favorites – Donuts *

So if you’ve not yet noticed. . . I’m obsessed with donuts. I frequently just search the word Donut on Pinterest to creep on all of the amazing pictures. It’s like when I hear the term “Food Porn” . . . My brain: Donuts – Every. Single. Time. -Don’t even care. They are just incredibly pretty. I even have a dedicated Donut Pinterest board. Don’t believe me? Just check it out for yourselves.

I’ve even had the personal dream of owning my own Donut Shop. I’m completely incapable of not burning garlic bread, yet I feel that donuts could possibly be my calling. #Right. But seriously, I have an entire business plan worked out in my head (and half on paper). I just have to figure out how it is you make a donut. Oh, and I want the crazy wild donuts too. . . like the Donut Bar or Voodoo Donuts. I’m not kidding! Nothing like this exists in Detroit and I swear It could very well be my next dream come true. Unfortunately funding doesn’t grow on trees and like I said, I don’t even know how to make a donut, let alone like 25 different flavors. . . regardless, in honor of my obsession and Friday Favorites I’m sharing with you a few of my favorite Donut pics, along with recipes!

1. (Gluten Free) Mini Cake Donuts –86Lemons

2. Peach Donuts Glazed With White Chocolate & Pistachios – Veggie-Wedgie

3. Strawberry Frosted Donuts – Sally’s Baking Obsession

4.  Coconut Lime Donuts – On Sugar Mountain

5. Cinnabon Donuts – Something Swanky

6.Glazed Baked Red Velvet Donuts –Macaroni & Cheesecake

7. Blueberry Lemon Glazed Donuts – Country Cleaver

8. Chocolate Donuts With Blood Orange Glaze – Heather Christo

9. Cinnamon Brown Sugar Donuts – Little Miss Momma

10. Strawberry Buttermilk Mini Donuts – Hungry Girl Por Vida

I seriously need to try just ONE of these recipes. I think I’ll make it a goal for this week! #DonutDetermination. I can’t get enough. . . . YUM!

What’s your favorite donut? Have you ever tried creating your own Donut recipe? I’m curious!!

Happy Friday!!

My Favorite Ways In Which To Avoid Responsibility *

Wahooo! I’m back bitches!! While it’s been a hot minute since I’ve blogged (2 weeks – seriously, don’t judge me), I’m back and ready for some good ol’ Friday Favorites. You see, it’s not that I’m completely lazy, but sometimes life gets in the way. I would love to sit here and make excuses but the reality of it is, I was just NOT around. I took a hiatus and I’m not all that ashamed. Sometimes it pays to be irresponsible.#LazyAsF. In light of this, I would like to break down a few of my favorite ways in which I completely avoid responsibility:

Have A Good Friday .jpg

1. Laundry: I just don’t do it. Well that’s a lie, I wash it. . . . I just don’t believe in folding and/or putting that shit away. While it’s incredibly liberating to come home to a closet full of freshly hung clothes, I wouldn’t know the first thing about accomplishing it. Ever since moving into my husband’s home 4 years ago, the lack of closet space has led to a life of laundromatic chaos. Typically takes about 22+ loads of laundry to finally break me. I then spend 6+ hours folding on a Netflix binge. #NoShame.

2. Email:  I just don’t read them. You see, I sign up for everything under the sun and I became horrible at deleting emails (read or unread) roughly 5 years ago. To date I have like 65k + unopened emails in my inbox. In spite of this personal flaw, I managed to use my marriage last spring as an excuse to create a “new email” in which I only use for professional and personal use. In turn, leading to even LESS opened emails on the other account. It’s a vicious cycle that I don’t have a solution to. If anyone hears of an invention that just cleans house on old emails, let me know. On second though, maybe I should patent that shit. . .

Screen Shot 2014-05-08 at 1.16.58 PM3. Emptying The Dishwasher: This is somewhat of a game at our house, a standoff if you will. Both my husband and myself absolutely HATE unloading the dishwasher, but loading is something we can agree on? Regardless, I’ll let the dishes pile up to the ceiling before finally caving. I rather just slowly unload as needed much like the loading process, too bad that could take weeks. #ImSuchABum.

4. Voicemail: I can’t stand this invention. A) I don’t listen to them. Ever. Especially from my mother. (Sorry Mom I love you, but seriously. . . . you don’t have to leave me a message that goes something like: “Hey sweetie, it’s Mom. Call me back.” – Trust me, I know you called. It’s called “missed call”. It was invented in like 2001. Actually, I have no idea when it was invented, I just Googled it and I came up empty-handed. . . .but regardless it’s been around for OVER a decade. B) I never delete them (see dating back to September of last year . . . .I had to scroll down for some time) because that would involve being responsible and possibly even organized. #IShutter C). I clearly don’t ever store numbers either. . . hence blacking out all the numbers, because they are in fact, numbers, not names. I don’t even know who they are. I would have just left them for you all to call but I had my own reservations. . . .unless you of course plan on asking them if their refrigerator is running, then by all means.

image.jpg

5. The Lint Trap: I realize this could be categorized with the above mentioned “Laundry” but let’s be serious, my lack of folding can’t contribute to a house fire. But for real, I could/should have burnt the basement down 10 times by now. I can’t even. . . . #SorryHusband.

6. Getting Off The Couch: When I’m down, I’m down. I don’t often sit but when I do. . . . it’s all bets off. I cannot be convinced to again rise unless chocolate covered strawberries are somehow involved. Dog needs water? #DontCare. Paige wants goldfish? #Pj!?! iPhone’s across the room? #GuessYouBetterLeaveAVoiceMail. #YeahRight.

7. Mani-Pedis: I will wait 5+ weeks before getting a fill. . .or until I break a nail and just can’t handle the incredible thought process/effort that goes into attempting to hide said nail under every varied circumstance. (Yes, I get embarrassed about that sort of petty crap). It’s not that I don’t want to take care of myself, it’s just that I don’t care. Not to mention I have way more important things to do besides sit in a chair for 2+ hours, even if that chair does have a massage feature.

8. Weeding The Garden: While it’s a little early in the season to be calling myself out on this, I thought it only right to look ahead to my seasonal irresponsibility. #CallMeAnOverachiever. Now I have yet to even plant this years flowers/veggies/herbs. . . .but don’t let that fool you: I have no intention on weeding these works of art. No joke, I will spend 3+ days perfecting each bed and pot, OCD’ing the hell out on every layout, color, spacing and more only to let them go to hell in 3 weeks. Weeding is for suckers. Not to mention I practically kill every plant I’ve ever owned. . . I just can’t deal.

Oh man, a Weeds GIF for a weeding resentment. . . .I crack myself up. #ImAmazing.

This blog you ask? Well yes, It’s been a little over 2+ weeks since I’ve tended to it, but I’m not even about to make excuses for that. I will, however, vow to never make a unestablished exit again. I missed you ladies too much. Oh and while we’re on the topic: 843 unread blogs on Bloglovin. . . It’s not that I won’t attempt to read them all, but in all honesty it’s just not gonna happen. Irresponsibility just kicked in and told me it’s “ok” to consider this a clean slate. Starting anew effective today. #DontJudgeMe.

Oh and while you’re at it, go check out the much more established, organized and clearly more responsible Amanda at Meet @ The Barre! Link up and love yourself some Friday Favorites! ❤

Friday Favorites – Easter Eggs *

Easters Eggs .jpg

Today’s Friday Favorites is an Easter inspired assortment of some of my favorite Eggs. #WeirdIKnow. While this may be incredibly boring to most of you, I spend every spring creeping my Pinterest boards for the next best Egg addition to my holiday board. I do not however, actually attempt to make any of these creative little “future birds”. I just bask in all the glory of the incredibly talented people who do and dream of the day that my toddler will look at me and say “Mommy I want to make rustic-chic eggs this year for the bunny”. Until then I’ll be picking up the all-American favorite PAAS Tie-Dye kit. . . . .#FML. I know you know what I’m talking about!

With my eggs going nowhere but downhill once again, and my most beautiful contribution more than likely being a feces-brown outcome of a supposed-to-be hippie inspired “pre-bird”, I will leave you all my “what could be” list of #SweetBabyJesusWeekend eggs in all their glory:

1. The “I got invited to Martha’s house!!” Eggs:

2. The “I could be a walking advertisement for Clorox Bleach Pens” Eggs:

3. The “I wish I was a Christmas wreath” Eggs:

4. The “I just got passed by a pick-up truck with non-existent mud flaps” Eggs:

5. The “I want to read about Italy too” Eggs:

6. The “Mossy Monster – probably my favorite but I would glue my fingers together in the process” Eggs:

7. The “I hope this says something important” Eggs:

8. The “Where do I get a vase like this?” Eggs:

9. The “I don’t even know what to say, who actually does all this in their spare time?” Eggs:

10. The “I could probably pull this off on a good day” Eggs:

11. The “I basically do this for a living with twine – why haven’t I thought of this yet?” Eggs:

12. The “I’m the Zac Efron of damn fine eggs” Eggs:

And that about sums it all up. If you want to link back to these incredible eggs and their owners, just simply click on the photo you wish to follow. Some great how to’s are available – I highly suggest you check them out!

Now granted, I will again sulk in my misery of ugly eggs once more but I’ll probably challenge myself again by tossing in a stencil or two this weekend, trying to create the next best “I want to be a Martha” egg, but it always ends in the same failed puddle of tears. . . so don’t expect any amazing “pre-birds” when I go to post my Easter Photos this weekend. #JustSaying. #THISGIF #IDie #LoveAziz.

Finally, if you haven’t heard: Amanda over at Meet At The Barre has finally taken the plunge into Link-Ups and is featuring her first ever “Friday Favorites” which I have been stalking for quite some time. If you get a chance, head over to check it out. I’m pretty sure that I completely failed on format but I try to stick with a one-direction, “list style” favorites typically so just roll with me here. . . .

. . . .which brings me to my next link up: Listed Fridays over at Erica Jacquline  This one is also new and my good friend Amanda over at Voyage of the MeeMee turned me onto this blog literally this morning! I figured since I also like to “List My Friday Favorites” it was only appropriately the best link-up EVER!  Plus isn’t that the fun in link-ups? Meeting new people, new link-ups? #LoveIT!

So with that, please:

Have A Good Friday .jpg

#Literally!

Friday Favorites: Frenchy Friday *

This is how you fail at Friday Favorites: So I got to work this morning only to realize I completely forgot my computer. YES,  I do in fact transport my Macbook Pro back and forth from my office every single day. . . partially because I refuse to work on anything but a Mac, secondly because well . . . I was never given a work computer. #StartUpCulture. It was just assumed that I use the one I already have. But since I pretend to blog and run an Etsy shop I kinda (sorta) need it at home too. It’s been a pain in the ass for almost 3 years but I’ve gotten used to it.

friday

Anyhow, me forgetting my computer is NOT something out of the ordinary. I forget lots of shit. Like ALL the time. Normally I would just turn my Jeep around and go get it but in case any of you missed out: as of late, my husband and I started car-pooling and uh yeah- No car to go back and get it. . . so here I am. Posting from a Toshiba on Windows 8, completely screwed sideways. None of my shortcuts work, I had to actually Log In to sites, save all my photos to desktop, OH and can’t forget to clear the history today. . .  . Regardless, I can’t let this stop me from posting something absurdly stupid. I have to keep up appearances!

In honor of Friday Favorite I hope to keep this short and sweet by addressing my infatuation with French Bulldogs. While I have never owned one, this doesn’t make me any less obsessed. If anything I could be MORE obsessed. Anyhow, here are some of my favorite reasons – paired with Frenchy photos (compliments of Pinterest) – to further support why I (and everyone else, #duh) wants a F.B.D.

1. They are romantic:

2. They Make Good Snuggle Buddies:

3. They Are Thoughtful:

4. They Practice Yoga:

5. They Are Dreamers:

6.  They Can Build Sandcastles:

7. They Steal Hearts:

8.  They Float:

9. They Always Apologize:

10.  They Dance:

11. They Are Photogenic:

12. They Are Competitive:

13. They Are Great With Kids:

14. They Are Trendsetters:

15. They Are The Cutest EVER:

So that about wraps up my Friday Favorites. #LookAtThoseEars!!

Thanks or stopping by and let me know your favorite dog in the comments below – Have you ever owned at Frenchie? ♥

Friday Favorites- City Shots *

So this Friday Favorites is a little last minute but I’m finally posting something that I’ve been meaning to capture on my Blog. I am OBSESSED with New York City . Obsessed isn’t even the word . . . I have an unhealthy infatuation with all things that take me back to the city- if only for a moment. It’s by far, to date, my favorite place on earth and the most contagious and intoxicating environment I’ve ever been a part of.

Roughly 3 years ago, I came across Through The Lens – a New York based photographer Vivienne Gucwa – that has captured, time-and-again, the overwhelming inspiration I derive from every moment I spend in New York.

Friday Favorites

With this being said, I hope to share with you a few of my “Favorite” photos from the artist and inspire your Friday in a Big Apple kind of way! While our definitions of “a few” may be completely different, I hope you’ll find each photo to be as breathtaking as the last. #ItsWorthTheScroll. Keep in mind that I’ve been following this blog for YEARS and have always had a passion for photography so it’s hard to narrow it down. . . . every shot is just incredible. Also, make sure to follow Through The Lens on their Facebook page too, great photos updated often!

All Photos In This Post Are Property Of Through The Lens Photography: Please Give Credit Where Credit Is Due!

On that note I will be done. Absolute passion. Vivienne Gucwa you are my muse!! I NY. What are some of your favorite places? Do you have a photographer that you just adore?

Happy Friday!!

Silver White Winters That Melt Into Springs. . . *

. . .These are a few of my favorite things! #FridayFavorites. #YesIJustQuotedTheSoundOfMusic. #GetUsedToIt.

So anyhow: Hell YES. It’s 53 degrees out in Detroit and I couldn’t be happier it’s Friday. I would like to get this Friday Favorites kicked off with a few of the things that are just making my life today. . . . and basically this week in general!

Friday Favorites

First off: Sweet Tunes. I have been having one of those weeks where everything that’s roughly 10 years old is just rocking my world. I’m reliving my youth and I probably definitely made a new Spotify playlist that’s 581 songs of pure Indie Rock and distant memories. I couldn’t be happier about this. Lets review some of the bands that made this “My Youth & Yours” (Feel Free To Follow Me On Spotify: Chelsea Elizabeth Scally) playlist shall we?

Throw Back Tunes

Yes, I made this. No, I am not ashamed. #JustBored. Pretty much the best music you can find for a day like today.

Second Up: Fresh Air & Sunshine. Yes, this is for real. 50 Degrees. #SpringIsInTheAir! FYI, It will be in the 20’s again by Sunday. #Michigan. #CherishItWhileYouCan. I did, however, make the most of cruising to pick up our office lunch by opening up the Jeeper’s Sky Roof for the first time this year . . . . and of course jamming out to above mentioned tunes. Hey, I might even get a car wash today. . . . if you know me, that’s saying A LOT.

Screen Shot 2014-03-14 at 3.15.25 PM

Third Runner Up: My Job, GroupGolfer.com. Deals are “Clubbin’ It Up” today. Golf is definitely in the air and warm weather is just around the corner. I always LOVE the first spring Friday when I come into the office and we are running a course in every market. . . .and they are all crushing it. It’s a happy happy day for golfers all around and it makes my day. #TeeItUp. Also, a big shout out to “Special Fridays” – another awkward term for Free Lunch Friday- and the selection of El Charro. Best Mexican on the East Side. #GreatWorkTeam. #ThatsANachoNotASalad. Oh and does anyone know where I can get a good pie at around these parts? #HappyPiDay! #LovePie. #FatKid.

LOGO-GG

Fourth and Final Favorite Of The Day: The #100HappyDays Challenge. It’s pretty much the coolest and most humbling thing I’ve participated with in a while. It’s basically a challenge to have 100 Happy Days in a row. You can check out more here. I’m only on Day 5 and already feel more grateful. It’s beyond simple. . .idiot proof even, all you need to do is snap a photo of one thing each day, moment, memory etc. and label it #100HappyDays. DONE. Don’t skip a damn day people! If you complete this challenge 100HappyDays.com sends you a photo album of all your Happy Days- (Don’t Forget To Register At The Link Provided Or Click On The Photo Below). Apparently 71% of people fail this challenge and the number one reason is claimed to be “Not Enough Time”. #Sad. I however, have every intention of completing this challenge and am loving every second of it. Seriously, check it out. It’s fantastic!

Screen Shot 2014-03-14 at 3.21.37 PM

So there is that. I welcome you all to share your Favorite Things about well, anything and start appreciating the little things! Comment it up, it’s not like any of you are really working today anyhow. 😉

Happy Friday & Have A Fab Weekend! ♥

Friday Favorites: We MUST Talk About Baby Humans *

So it’s Friday. Last night my father messaged me on Facebook (Yes, he’s that tech savvy apparently), and he informed me that upon stalking my name on google (He must do this often because as tech savvy as he is, he’s also paranoid from time to time- which aren’t all people over the age of 40 working around the internet?) he came across my blog. #Busted. I totally haven’t started sharing this nonsense with my friends and family yet because, well, I’m lost. I don’t know what the hell I’m even doing on here but so far I’m satisfied. And that’s all that matters. ME. I also haven’t begun sharing because it’s something I want to be not a fucking shit show “well established” once I let my outside world in. I need a flow, or a theme or something people actually care about? I don’t even know. I’m just rambling.

I then started to think about what weekly routines I want to start on my blog. Something that can perhaps gauge interest or become a fun tradition for people to get involved in? I guess that my first idea was Friday Favorites. Everyone loves Fridays, it’s just common knowledge. Why not make them even better by spending my morning talking about some of my favorite things? (No Matter HOW Random They May Be). I mean who doesn’t want to make a great day greater? And even if your Friday may be going to hell, you can get online and read, share and laugh in the randomness that makes my world spin. It’s all I could think of so far, besides that I should probably make a point to do my “Creative Chaos” posts on Thursdays because that’s when I typically attempt something random around my house. I then realized at this point that I would be holding myself more accountable to this blog. #Shit. While I have limited followers and absolutely no idea how to gauge an interest in my boring little life, I think this is the correct direction to be heading in. Plus I’m all about organization so I mine as well get this blog in order since my life is anything but.

Baby Humans 1

With that being said, I would like to spend this first ♥Friday Favorites♥ talking about Baby Humans. Baby Humans are defined by me as: a small baby or toddler that is dressed like an adult, teen or someone in their 90s. Over all they are mature in image and underdeveloped in reality. Probably the cutest things to grace the planet. While they may rock that Burberry scarf and Lacoste sweater, they are secretly unrolling your toilet paper around the corner. It couldn’t be more practical. They make my life. While I pin these little creatures left and right, I’ve taken a few moments to share my absolute favorite photos of these adorable little minis and conclude with some Baby Gap outfits (My Personal Downfall- Baby Clothes Shopping) that will thus result in me continuing to dress my own mini as a Baby Human. I can’t wait! Lets get this started.

* I’m slightly more partial to the Baby Human women as I have a girl of my own but I’ve managed to find some absolutely fabulous mini men as well. . . Please Enjoy. Also note, these photos are NOT mine and a source link is provided upon clicking each photo. I would also like to personally thank the Photographers, Bloggers, and Etsy Owners that took the time to dress these Little Humans and photograph them for my viewing pleasure. I ♥!

Before I forget – My Own Baby Human! ♥

Ok So There Is That. My ♥Friday Favorites♥ of Baby Humans. I would like to sincerely thank the photographers again and advise all the people who purchased this baby attire to please forward me all links as to where I can purchase. I actually want for myself as well but I’ll settle for dressing vicariously through my daughter. . . which has presented a large issue during my “Retail Therapy” sessions. #OoOops.

Lastly, I will give you a small dose of my future purchasing conquest. . . as I seldom open emails from GAP (because I know I will cave under their Baby Human cuteness pressure – Oh and the 40% coupons), I have accidentally stumbled across their new spring Baby Human line. . . . it’s all must have. #NoLie. I’ve collected some of my personal faves. . . I hope Paige agrees.

Baby Gap Ensemble

So with that I will conclude my first ♥Friday Favorites♥! I am not gonna lie, this post made my morning already. It’s kinda nice to switch it up from the constant “Things That Drive Me Crazy” posts or the “Guilty As Charged” sessions. . . Just post what makes you happy- some of your favorites!! Love me some Baby Humans and now I can’t wait for 5-0’clock!

Do any of you have children? What are some of your favorite places to shop? I Love New Ideas!!!

Also, Feel free to comment a few of your favorite things! – Get in on the action, I love the positivity (& Humor) this instills in my Friday!

Cheers!
