Everything Happens For A Reason *

As I sit here on this delicate Monday morning, I can humbly reflect on another weekend passed. While I type this half asleep, I’m comforted to know that my morning tea is only moments away. 3 sugars, light cream. Becky knows me all too well after only 3 short weeks.

The sun is glaring brightly on my face, my monitor is an impossible gloss of tiny fingerprints. I really need to consider switching booths on such bright and cheerful mornings. . . I can’t see a damn thing as I’m typing. But I love this booth, this is my booth. It’s secluded. Personal. I can see the entire city from this dumpy little coney. I wont move so I squint to see a little more.

As of late, I’ve been lucky enough to accept each sunrise. Every single morning. While I dreaded this transition for many months, it’s in turn proven to be incredibly essential in keeping myself in tune. A forgotten piece of inspiration in my day that I’m all too thankful to have back.

The past 5 months have been exhausting. While I am in no way ready to share the experiences I’ve encountered, dealt with and still overcoming; I would like to point out that because of this self inflicted process I’ve become a better person.

“Everything Happens For A Reason.”

That’s what I’ve been told. But does it? Is there a reason for everything and everything for a reason? While I search for some personal gratification on this mild and well-mannered morning I struggle to find a solution.

But maybe that’s the problem. Maybe searching for all the answers is what brings us back to beginning. The problem. Perhaps the answer is in not knowing. In that I can find some honesty.

You see, turning your will over is no easy habit. It’s an un-perfected process that goes hand-in-hand with loss of control and lack of acceptance. Lets be serious for a second: Who in the hell wants that? Truthfully? I do. You do. We all do. The incredible humbleness that comes from letting go is something that I can’t completely describe, yet I hope to fully share. It’s a level of peace that I had never before experienced until I learned to let go absolutely.

While I’m in no way a person of extreme faith, I have always possessed the knowledge that in all my efforts I can never guarantee results. This is something that has helped me accept the life I live today. While I may not always be where I want to be, I’m where I’m supposed to be. This is happiness.

I once read that God comes along and wrecks your plans when your plans are about to wreck you. While I would have balked at such a phrase years ago, I can today appreciated the honesty and reality in these unbreakable words. Maybe things happen for a reason. Maybe you come to understand that reason, maybe you don’t. It’s faith in letting go that makes acceptance possible because sometimes, just sometimes, it’s the wrong choices that bring us to the right places.

We don’t have all the answers . . . just today. And today, I’m eating my eggs sunny side up with a side of hope. How about you?

Friday Favorites – Easter Eggs *

Easters Eggs .jpg

Today’s Friday Favorites is an Easter inspired assortment of some of my favorite Eggs. #WeirdIKnow. While this may be incredibly boring to most of you, I spend every spring creeping my Pinterest boards for the next best Egg addition to my holiday board. I do not however, actually attempt to make any of these creative little “future birds”. I just bask in all the glory of the incredibly talented people who do and dream of the day that my toddler will look at me and say “Mommy I want to make rustic-chic eggs this year for the bunny”. Until then I’ll be picking up the all-American favorite PAAS Tie-Dye kit. . . . .#FML. I know you know what I’m talking about!

With my eggs going nowhere but downhill once again, and my most beautiful contribution more than likely being a feces-brown outcome of a supposed-to-be hippie inspired “pre-bird”, I will leave you all my “what could be” list of #SweetBabyJesusWeekend eggs in all their glory:

1. The “I got invited to Martha’s house!!” Eggs:

2. The “I could be a walking advertisement for Clorox Bleach Pens” Eggs:

3. The “I wish I was a Christmas wreath” Eggs:

4. The “I just got passed by a pick-up truck with non-existent mud flaps” Eggs:

5. The “I want to read about Italy too” Eggs:

6. The “Mossy Monster – probably my favorite but I would glue my fingers together in the process” Eggs:

7. The “I hope this says something important” Eggs:

8. The “Where do I get a vase like this?” Eggs:

9. The “I don’t even know what to say, who actually does all this in their spare time?” Eggs:

10. The “I could probably pull this off on a good day” Eggs:

11. The “I basically do this for a living with twine – why haven’t I thought of this yet?” Eggs:

12. The “I’m the Zac Efron of damn fine eggs” Eggs:

And that about sums it all up. If you want to link back to these incredible eggs and their owners, just simply click on the photo you wish to follow. Some great how to’s are available – I highly suggest you check them out!

Now granted, I will again sulk in my misery of ugly eggs once more but I’ll probably challenge myself again by tossing in a stencil or two this weekend, trying to create the next best “I want to be a Martha” egg, but it always ends in the same failed puddle of tears. . . so don’t expect any amazing “pre-birds” when I go to post my Easter Photos this weekend. #JustSaying. #THISGIF #IDie #LoveAziz.

Finally, if you haven’t heard: Amanda over at Meet At The Barre has finally taken the plunge into Link-Ups and is featuring her first ever “Friday Favorites” which I have been stalking for quite some time. If you get a chance, head over to check it out. I’m pretty sure that I completely failed on format but I try to stick with a one-direction, “list style” favorites typically so just roll with me here. . . .

. . . .which brings me to my next link up: Listed Fridays over at Erica Jacquline  This one is also new and my good friend Amanda over at Voyage of the MeeMee turned me onto this blog literally this morning! I figured since I also like to “List My Friday Favorites” it was only appropriately the best link-up EVER!  Plus isn’t that the fun in link-ups? Meeting new people, new link-ups? #LoveIT!

So with that, please:

Why I Hate The News *

I don’t know about everyone else but this week has been a long one. With Sunday in the 70s and snow on Tuesday I just can’t really seem to get a handle on my life. Or the Weather. Or maybe my life. I don’t even know. . . . Anyhow: Confessions are long over-due (if that’s even possible in only a week’s time) and deviled eggs can’t come soon enough. #HelloSweetBabyJesusWeekend!

Why I Hate The News .jpg

So while I’ve been keeping a mental list of confessions in my head for the past 3 days, I couldn’t help but completely forget ALL of them upon waking up this morning. I don’t know if it was the lack of coffee or the absurd garbage that was strewn across my news feeds -but regardless- my thought process dwindled quickly. Not sure if it’s just here in Michigan or what, but this world is seriously getting more stupid by the second. I’m beginning to lose faith in all of humanity and would like to share just a few examples from today alone of why it is #IHateTheNews. . . .

1. This child. The people that wrote this story. And the people who considered it “newsworthy”. Selfies? This word should be omitted from all forms of broadcast anything. Never once was the word selfie included in any sentence, announcement or otherwise important tid-bit worthy of any public energy. While I must admit this kid got exactly what he was asking for ( I wish I could kick every human in the head at 45 MPH that thought a selfie was a decent way to include yourself in society), it’s still not something my local news station should be airing. Reddit? sure. Youtube, why not. Channel 4? Come the F on, you call yourself professionals. I expect that there is a lot more going on in my surrounding neighborhood then some dip shit with a smart phone and no depth perception.

Teen Trying To Take Selfie In Front Of Train Gets Kicked By Conductor

Teen was a ‘safe’ distance from train

Story Here

2. Oh wait, there isn’t anything better going on in my surrounding suburbs. Brought to you straight from Detroit, the most uneducated argument #Literally, that I have seen in the past decade when it comes to college admissions. The fact that our local Fox 2 reporters assumed that anyone holding a megaphone MUST be newsworthy is beyond insulting. Not only that, they run with the story and continue to let these uninformed individuals rant for the world to hear. Everyone in the next generation is now stupider (pun intended) for having listened to this.

Detroit Student Joins BAMN To Lead Protest Against U-M Admissions Office

Story Here

Did anyone think to look up the admissions process at the University of Michigan before running this garbage? How about the history behind the University’s admissions process. . . because I for one can remember the year that I was applying to colleges (we won’t say exactly when) that UofM had placed policies into effect in which diversity reigned supreme, and it still does. I mean it’s seriously listed publicly on their site for the world to see, I didn’t even have to dig. UofM is one of the most diverse universities in the state, and among the top in the country. Look it up.

Now you two half-wit children are pulling the race card? Listen, it’s well-known that if you don’t have a 3.85 or higher (more like a 4.0 – I know someone working in their admissions dept.) – which you didn’t- that UofM wont even look at you. Oh and by the way, your ACT scores were crap. I scored higher and I’m a complete idiot. I even scored better my second time around after an all night bender, preceding a home football game. #Truth. And sure, you were involved in some extra circulars but hey, so was I. Lots of them. I mean with parents today, who isn’t? I’m sure if the admissions process were based on this alone, I would have been accepted too. But I wasn’t, I didn’t dare apply. But please know that if I had (and obviously not gotten accepted), I wouldn’t have pulled the race card. . . and I don’t even get that bonus 20%!

Both of you women are clearly intelligent, well-rounded and persistent. I for one didn’t have a 3.65 or higher GPA in high school and I commend you for fighting the good fight. . . also known as not enjoying your youth. But in all seriousness, it would be a breath of fresh air to see you channel your talents in a more positive light moving forward. Yet here we are, watching our local news reward you with publicity on an uneducated complaint when you should be out changing the world. I’m all for supporting the Freedom of Speech or a good honest protest but this is why society is the way that it is. #IHateTheNews.

3. Why do I even try?

Prince William Told Kate She Looked Like a Banana

Story Here

No seriously, that’s the headline. Apparently Maggie Lange got her first shot at some white space over at New York Magazine and totally blew it. We really had nothing better to cover on this highly regarded couple that’s representing like, an entire country? #GuessNot. #IActuallyHaveNoIdeaWhatTheyDo. I’m guessing by Maggie’s archive that she’s probably not that well versed in needed “News”. This short story essentially is the biggest click waste in any one person’s lifetime, at least for me it was. #ProceedWithCaution.

So in conclusion, I would like to essentially confess that I am in no way ready to get home and turn on the 5 o’clock. With the way things are headed it’s difficult to imagine our planet surviving past 2020. While I can make no direct efforts to changing the way in which our country broadcasts intellectual information, I can at least make the decision to ignore it.

On that note, if it’s not being anchored by the Channel 4 News Team or the Atlantis Cable News Team. . . I don’t want anything to do with it. #IHateTheNews.

Have you ever had a day of just BAD news? What stories drive you crazy? Does anyone just LOVE The Newsroom Like I do, Maybe Anchor Man? #MyOnlyFormsOfNews. Please tell me I’m not alone out here.

If you have any last confessions before #SweetBabyJesusWeekend you best make sure to stop on over at Vodka And Soda for Kathy’s Weekly “Humpday Confessions” and link-up any post your heart desires with Liz From Fitness Blondie for her weekly Hump Day Blog Hop which I believe is being Co-Hosted By Kathy!

Pigeons, Parties & Personal Celebration *

OK- so the day has finally arrived!! I just got word from Big Honcho Media of the first of 10 Blog Parties featuring the book release, The Pigeon Needs A Bath – By Mo Willems! I couldn’t be more excited to share this with all of you . Essentially, a few weeks back, Twine With A Twist (My Etsy Shop) was asked to create 10 photo booth backdrops for Big Honcho Media. From there, these backdrops would be shipped out to 10 different blogger’s homes in which they would utilize them while hosting a Book Release Party for the newly introduced title of Mo’s collection.

Screen Shot 2014-04-15 at 1.11.45 PM

Now for any of you that know me, this is absolutely FANTASTIC. While I am in no way a professional anything, my passion for creativity for exceeds my fears of failure, so naturally this was an exciting opportunity.  I was so completely thrilled to not only be receiving such a huge order from a respected marketing agency in New York (My Favorite City), but to be supplying my personal products to other bloggers whom I’ve never met! This was such an honor and I couldn’t help but jump up and down! #Literally.

Once I arranged to complete the order, I asked the wonderful ladies over at Big Honcho if they would mind sending me the links to these incredible parties so that I could take a look at how the final products were used. Much to my surprise, they totally agreed!!

Screen Shot 2014-04-15 at 12.39.13 PM

Now THIS is exciting: not only do I get to witness my order being truly enjoyed, but I get to meet and follow along with some incredible new bloggers! It’s a total WIN-WIN. In the world of someone who’s just starting out in both Blogging AND Etsy, it’s been a true honor to take part in this exciting arrangement! So anyhow, let’s get down to business: First off, a little background on the featured book, Mo Willems and his entire “Pigeon Series”.

The Pigeon really needs a bath! Except, the Pigeon’s not so sure about that. Besides, he took a bath last month! Maybe. It’s going to take some serious convincing to try and get the Pigeon to take the plunge.

First in the series, Don’t Let Pigeon Drive the Bus celebrates its 10th birthday this year! Over the last  decade, The Pigeon books have sold millions of copies and enchanted young readers. The books have received numerous starred reviews, have appeared on many “best of” lists, and have even been inducted into the Indies Choice Picture Book Hall of Fame.

For any of you that have children, this series is fantastic! I had to catch up as soon as I heard of the book release and author. Mo is an absolute genius! With a number of children’s stories and both fun and interactive ways to learn, it’s a selection you won’t want to pass on – and at an affordable price!! #WhatEveryMomWantsToHear.

Secondly, the parties. Now If any of you know me, I’m always one for a great themed event. . . and this blogger truly speaks to me! Kami over at NoBiggie is one amazing lady! With a flare for the creative and a laundry list of accomplished editorials, she’s a super mother! While I am just getting to know her blog (I just received this blog late last night), I am currently consumed with her story and am quickly becoming one of her biggest fans for a variety of reasons. #NICUMommiesUnite! Seriously, she’s a total inspiration and the idea of checking out her blog isn’t just a thoughtful suggestion, it’s an order! When it came to this book release, it’s easy to see why Kami would be such an amazing candidate for a suggestive party. . . This woman knows how to throw an event! Below is a photo from the Pigeon Party. I mean look at these baskets! Are you kidding me? She’s incredibly crafty and I love her ability to totally nail a theme. It’s strictly adorable and I can’t help but wish I had been invited!

For more details and Kami’s fabulous photography of this amazing little get-together please click here. You won’t be disappointed!

Next To Be Found (Updated Mid-Day April 15th, 2014) – Tonya over at Create-Celebrate-Explore & TonyaStaab.com. This party just tugs at my heart strings! A simple- yet utterly creative baby shower, Tonya completely transforms your typical baby brunch into the most incredibly cute event! With tons of activities and an adorable diaper “Pigeon in the Tub” cake to boot, this fabulous shower is how every mother should welcome their next addition. Seriously, I just LOVE everything about it: The onesies, cinnamon roll french toast casseroles (WHAT??), pineapple orange juice, mini donuts. I mean what in the world? I wish I was having another. When I’m due for my second, I’m calling Tonya! I also adore what she did with my backdrop, instead of the typical photo booth she opted to use it as a table skirt. It couldn’t have looked better. It really ties in the hint of rustic chic she’s polished off- this really is just an incredible post so make sure to check it out here.

Next up on #ThePigeonParty blog list (Updated Late-Afternoon April 15th, 2014) was MaryLea over at Pink And Green Momma. She took the approach that any amazing teacher would and turned this Pigeon Party into an fantastic learning experience! Utilizing all the amazing guides and event kits available on the Pigeon’s Website, MaryLea combined her knowledge for education with her creative intuition to provide some excellent learning opportunities! Two-sided Pigeons along with fun little worksheets made for an eventful afternoon in the classroom. With a kid-friendly menu and a bath tub photo booth, it’s sure to please any silly student! I just loved what she did with the backdrop in her blog post and the attention to detail is incredibly fun. I hope my daughter has a teacher like MaryLea one day!!

 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Lastly, a big Thank You to all of the people in my life that have been supporting me on this crazy avenue I’ve coined “Creative Chaos”. Without your hopeful wishes and consistent encouragement, I wouldn’t be where I am today. While I still have a lot to learn, my adoration for the process of which it is to grow in my own creative process has definitely begun and where it’s headed is anybody’s guess!

I’m hopeful that opportunities such as this can continue in my future and that I will grow in faith, skill and humble amusement along the path. For it’s truly a beautiful sight to see a career and a passion become one, and I hope to one day achieve such a goal! While the act of working a steady career, a part-time passion, creating a home and growing a small family is more than enough to keep my plate full . . . I will always strive to be better today than I was yesterday and thanks to excellent opportunities, I can become a little more grateful than each day before. So thank you again, it’s always worth sharing some happiness.

For further updates and continued Pigeon Party Blog additions, check back often as this post may be continuously updated with each additional event! Also, make sure you chime in every Tuesday morning with the Lets Be Friends Blog Hop hosted by the wonderful ladies at The Dwelling Tree and Southern Beauty Guide. I’ve been checking it out these past few weeks and finally decided today would be the perfect opportunity get in on the action. While I’m exceptionally late to this weeks link-up, it’s a great way to share new content, meet new people and just genuinely enjoy a few good posts! Hope to see you there.

Friday Favorites: Frenchy Friday *

This is how you fail at Friday Favorites: So I got to work this morning only to realize I completely forgot my computer. YES,  I do in fact transport my Macbook Pro back and forth from my office every single day. . . partially because I refuse to work on anything but a Mac, secondly because well . . . I was never given a work computer. #StartUpCulture. It was just assumed that I use the one I already have. But since I pretend to blog and run an Etsy shop I kinda (sorta) need it at home too. It’s been a pain in the ass for almost 3 years but I’ve gotten used to it.

friday

Anyhow, me forgetting my computer is NOT something out of the ordinary. I forget lots of shit. Like ALL the time. Normally I would just turn my Jeep around and go get it but in case any of you missed out: as of late, my husband and I started car-pooling and uh yeah- No car to go back and get it. . . so here I am. Posting from a Toshiba on Windows 8, completely screwed sideways. None of my shortcuts work, I had to actually Log In to sites, save all my photos to desktop, OH and can’t forget to clear the history today. . .  . Regardless, I can’t let this stop me from posting something absurdly stupid. I have to keep up appearances!

In honor of Friday Favorite I hope to keep this short and sweet by addressing my infatuation with French Bulldogs. While I have never owned one, this doesn’t make me any less obsessed. If anything I could be MORE obsessed. Anyhow, here are some of my favorite reasons – paired with Frenchy photos (compliments of Pinterest) – to further support why I (and everyone else, #duh) wants a F.B.D.

1. They are romantic:

2. They Make Good Snuggle Buddies:

3. They Are Thoughtful:

4. They Practice Yoga:

5. They Are Dreamers:

6.  They Can Build Sandcastles:

7. They Steal Hearts:

8.  They Float:

9. They Always Apologize:

10.  They Dance:

11. They Are Photogenic:

12. They Are Competitive:

13. They Are Great With Kids:

14. They Are Trendsetters:

15. They Are The Cutest EVER:

So that about wraps up my Friday Favorites. #LookAtThoseEars!!

Thanks or stopping by and let me know your favorite dog in the comments below – Have you ever owned at Frenchie? ♥

50 Things I Love About Blogging *

So yesterday was my 50th entry to my Blog. As a somewhat “Over The Hill” tribute, I would like to dedicate today’s post to confessing the 50 things I’ve come to love about blogging. It’s only been a few short months since I’ve taken on this personal challenge and while it’s had its definite shares of ups and downs, I’ve grown a tremendous amount in the process and I couldn’t be more grateful. To all of those who’ve witnessed what little triumphs I’ve made in the past 5 months, I thank you. You’re an inspiration in so many ways and I couldn’t have done this with out witnessing your pure and honest confessions to the world.

50 Things I Love About Blogging.jpg

Another announcement -or “confession”, if you will- is that I’ve decided to revamp my blog and take it in another direction. While I’ll still be blogging about the same old garbage, I have finally committed to purchasing a domain (About Time – I know.) and have realigned it with my personal business to keep things simple. While I still adore “Front Paige News” (because my daughter’s name is Paige), this domain was already occupied. I then considered the thought of losing out on www.TwineWithATwist.com as a domain (because it’s my side-business) and thought it no better time than the present to jump on it. Happy 50th Baby Blog: I got you a domain, facelift and some much-needed attention. Don’t worry, the chocolate covered strawberries are on the way! Maybe some day I’ll even upgrade my WordPress to a custom account. #BabySteps.

So in light of all the things learned since last November, I would like to compound those moments, lessons and memories into one small list: My 50 in 50. (These go in no particular order):

50 Things I love About Blogging:

  1. Patience – Your blog isn’t going to grow overnight. You learn to accept it, learn and listen.
  2. Connections – You meet the most amazing people in this tiny universe. It’s amazing and you will grow to love each and every person.
  3. Fear – You will attempt to conquer some of your biggest phobias. Then grow from them! It’s exhilarating, just wait.
  4. Grammar – I took a lot of english classes, had a minor in Language Arts and was an editor for 5 years. I’m still complete crap. The more you blog, the better you get!
  5. Design – You can make this space your own. It’s something I like to fiddle with time and again, it never gets old. Change it as you see fit, as often as you see fit.
  6. Capture – Take moments of your life and post them for the world to see, for you to see. It doesn’t matter, just make the most of your memories.
  7. Love – Finding that irreplaceable connection with your blog. It’s a place to escape when nothing else feels right. Write your world.
  8. Photography – Learn it. I have grown so much in this passion through the simple art of Blogging. Create that perfect accent to your word, a photo.
  9. Simplicity – Each post is its own. Don’t over think it. (I know I do!)
  10. Victory – Find triumph when you can. Each post, each goal, each milestone. Celebrate we will, cuz’ life is short but sweet for certain!
  11. Responsibility – You learn to face self-inflicted deadlines and personally accept the guilt that comes with failure (or even laziness). While nobody -but you- is betting against you, it can be stressful none the less. Don’t go too hard on yourself. . . It’s just a Blog!
  12. Creativity – You can spend an afternoon creating the perfect post, the perfect layout, the perfect photo. It’s engaging and addictive. It can also be completely freeing! Let your mind wander.
  13. Passion – You will find your passion. In this blog, in your life, in your writing. Embrace it. Love It. Learn it. Grow with it.
  14. Feedback – Cherish each comment. In the beginning it’s all that you have to not feel like you’re writing to a wall. These are the people who support you, big or small. It’s exciting!
  15. Support – Give it. Get it. You can change a persons entire day with one post, one comment. Blogging gives you an incredible network of people you’ll never meet otherwise. Embrace your connections.
  16. Publish – You can do it. When that initial post is too frightful to release on the world, just do it anyways. It took me 3 months to finally “click” the button. I’m so grateful that I did.
  17. Edit – Learn to love it. Re-read and over analyze. It might drive you crazy but each post is a work of art and I love going back and finding errors, it means I’m just as imperfect as I hoped I was.
  18. Voice – Finding your voice can be an upwards battle but it’s worth every moment. I can’t express how excited I am to continue on this path to finding what it is I can call my own.
  19. Link-Ups – Get in on the fun and find new friends. While I struggle to create my own “Link-Up”, I thoroughly enjoy the ones I take part in, like today’s “Humpday Confessions” with Kathy over at Vodka and Soda or Liz over on Fitness Blondie with “The Hump Day Blog Hop!“. Always look to grow your blog and join the party(ies) if you will!
  20. Humor – Embrace each Blog for the laughter that it can offer. Don’t be afraid to show your silly side and laugh. A lot. Often. At Yourself.
  21. Motivation – Blog It Up! While I struggle to find the words some days, I have never felt such a compelling effort to keep writing. . . a Blog is a baby, don’t toss it in a box outside your alley. #Seriously.
  22. Unique – Finding what it is you feel like publishing can be extremely fun/difficult. Rainboots? Sure. Write about them. Why the hell not? Be Yourself. . . It’s liberating.
  23. Privacy – Share when you’re ready. The best aspect to Blogging is the freedoms you’re given. You decide when -and if- you want to unveil your space to your (rather intimidating) personal world. For me, it’s about that time. I think it could be beneficial to conquering those final fears!
  24. Procrastination – I can if I want. Although I will admit, one of the most beneficial aspects to blogging could be the “make-believe urgency” to STOP being a slacker. If anything, you’ll overcome your lazy ways.
  25. Change – The adventures of Blogging will change you. Your voice will change, your writing will change, your formats will change. Don’t be afraid of it. The only thing constant is change.
  26. Read – You will read. A Lot. Each blog you follow will become like a short story that never ends. You will fall in love with some of them. Don’t compare, don’t judge. Accept and learn from each person you follow. . . they are inspiring in each their own.
  27. Comfort – Create a place all your own, your dream escape from everything. This is your space to be you, to be honest, to be challenged. It’s comforting to know you can always come back.
  28. Listen – In the past 5 months and I can honestly say that I’ve learned so much by simply listening to what others have to blog about, by listening to the experts, listening to your challenges, your victories, your daily dish. It’s why God gave us two ears and one mouth . . . .although it’s tough to argue when I blog with two hands?!
  29. Believe – Dare to be great. Aspire to be the next best “________”. It’s up to you. Nobody else. Don’t ever give up on your Blog, it’s a small extension of yourself. Treat it as such.
  30. Gratitude – Be courteous to those who appreciate your words and never forget to show thanks to those who’ve touched you! I’ve lost count of the times I’ve been truly thankful in this process and it’s quite amazing, it never ends!
  31. Perfection – Give it up! It doesn’t exist and you don’t need it. If there is one thing that Blogging had taught me, it’s that not any one post is better than another. Blog from your heart and your imperfections will glow with honesty. It’s your best attribute.
  32. Preparation- Blogging has taught me to plan ahead. While I mostly write by the seat of my pants, it’s given me a better idea on how to implement an idea and prepare for its path. It can be difficult but it’s benefits are endless, in life and in Blogging.
  33. Help – Ask for it. As often as you see fit. Blogging has taught me to ask for help. Lots of it. While I may work in Social Media, I do NOT know it all. I have so much to learn and I’m not afraid to ask the pros, you shouldn’t be either.
  34. Ambition – Get some! While I’ve always thought of myself as a somewhat ambitious individual, it wasn’t until I started this blog that I became aware of all my own possibilities. I’m a rockstar, so are you. Act like it.
  35. Code – Learn it. While I have a very limited knowledge on the backside of web design, Blogging has taught me some of the bare minimums that I would have otherwise neglected. It feels great to successfully pull off a little bit of coding, even if it’s just HTML!
  36. Discover – Never stop exploring. Blogging has opened so many doors for me. I couldn’t be more appreciative of the avenues this adventure has led me down.
  37. Labels – Label Yourself. Don’t be a pansy about it either. It helps to better express yourself and let others around you know what you’re about. I enjoy the honesty that comes from admitting both my character defects and my admiral qualities. . . . and finish your “About Me”!
  38. Giveaways – I damn well LOVE giveaways. I enjoy the traffic they create. As a Social Media Manager, I can honestly say that giveaways are the one small similarity I’ve found in my personal blog space and my daily profession. While I suck at throwing them – I have no idea what I’m doing – I enjoy witnessing another’s successful contest. I don’t mind participating either!
  39. Honesty – Let go of your reservations. Blogging is one of the best ways to get honest with yourself . . . and others.
  40. Accountability – The feeling that you get from contributing to something is indescribable. Feeling needed is a natural desire for anyone. . . . this space can give you that and it’s wonderful.
  41. Variety – The Blogging world is endless. The variation you can get from one feed alone is so intriguing. Engine Rebuilds, Quilting, Sugar Free Donut Recipes? It’s all here. Never stop expanding your path to knowledge.
  42. Reality – Whether it’s indescribably sad or overwhelmingly happy, every Blog has the ability to open your eyes to the incredible world we live in. I can’t imagine a better way to relate to people then through pure emotion.
  43. Security – Knowing that at any moment your world could come crashing down and the people you meet through your Blog will be there for you, and you for them.
  44. Humility – Accepting yourself for all of your faults. Overcoming them. Laughing at them. Blogging about them. Laughing at them again. A truly honest blog will accept you for all your defects.
  45. Experiment – It’s your space, do what you will. If you’re looking to take a chance this is the perfect place! Take feedback with a grain of salt and learn to find consistency with time…I have only just begun!
  46. Community – Build your own. What’s more fantastic than your very own niche? While I’m far from finding my very own space, it’s refreshing to know that I’ll someday find my own personal neighborhood.
  47. Forget – It happens. Don’t get down on yourself if you take a day off. . . . I’ve taken 4 or 5. Sometimes it’s exactly what the doctor ordered. Appreciate the down time. Come back refreshed. It can prove to be a positive.
  48. Report – Find news, advice, tips and to-do’s that mean something to you, that mean something to your followers. Report it. Hell, make your own. Share your world and wisdom with others -I find this incredibly fun and always learn something about myself in the process.
  49. Finish – Don’t. Always find something to keep you coming back. While I can honestly admit that some of my favorite moments have been when I finally put the keyboard down, the fresh idea of another post is what keeps me coming back.
  50. Faith – Have it. In Yourself. In your Blog. Don’t for one minute think you’re not capable. Faith is taking the first step, even when you can’t see the whole staircase. #MyBlog.

If you actually read all this, god bless you. I don’t know why I didn’t start this days ago. Regardless, I couldn’t be happier!

If you get a chance, check out today’s link-ups (listed above/below) and enjoy the rest of your Wednesday!!

The Absurd Tweets Of Men {Link-Up #4} *

So in honor of Shit Men Say ( I can’t believe it’s already Vol. 4!!) I’m sharing just a few of the weird things my husband has said in the last month on Twitter. While I typically troll both his Facebook AND Twitter accounts for inspiration, I was feeling slightly unmotivated today. Plus, his Twitter account is always more humorous because it’s only geared towards his male counterparts. AKA – Dumb Friends with similar senses of humor. I believe next month I will just troll ALL of their Tweets too and you can get a good idea of where I’m coming from. #CanIDoThat?

Regardless of the laws on privacy and stalking my friends tweets. . . I still imagine it to be a hefty post. While I work in Social Media and could spend an afternoon alone posting all the stupid shit men say on the accounts I manage, I digress. (I believe that’s grounds for termination.) #ILikeMyJob. But seriously, SO stupid. Anyhow, back to my husband, who hasn’t gained any intelligence since we last spoke:

He really does sing the Canadian National Anthem EVERY SINGLE TIME we watch a hockey game. It’s absurd. I do appreciate his passion for song though and his vocal efforts are astounding. #WhyILoveHim.

Anyhow, if you haven’t already- I highly suggest checking out the link-up: “Shit Men Say”. Created by the lovely Amanda over at Voyage of the MeeMee and Danae at Duh!Danae! – You will NOT be disappointed. These two are talented and the ladies that link-up each month are equally hilarious. It’s a great way to reflect laugh your ass off  at your relationship and the important man in your life!

What are some stupid things your man has said? Lookin’ For a Laugh!!

I Don’t Believe You *

Hello again! While it wasn’t exactly my plan to fly off the radar for the last 5 days, it definitely wasn’t the worst thing to ever happen. I planned on  posting yesterday but my internet was absolute crap (Thank the Lord it was taken care of early this AM) and I in no way could make a post or access the outside world. #SocialMediaCareerProblems.

No seriously though, not a single thing was accomplished at work or in my personal world. I would never wish a broken server on anyone, especially in a professional Social Media / Online Company atmosphere.

So to kick of confessions, I would first like to admit that I enjoyed my time off. While some of you may have noticed that I did make a post on Monday, it was truthfully a re-blog from an amazing story over on evoL=. It’s not that I didn’t plan on posting, I just felt that this incredible story of a close friend was worth overriding whatever nonsense garbage I would have otherwise considered feeding you people. Regardless, it’s been since Friday that I’ve really put any thought into blogging so, #SorryNotSorry. I needed this. It was an incredibly relaxing weekend, the weather finally broke for a few days and I relished my valuable time enjoying the first few seconds of Spring.

Next: I have been carpooling with my husband to work as of late. It’s only Wednesday (Day Three) and it’s been Hell. I have a career that doesn’t require me to be in office at 8am. . .  I typically stroll in around 10am. #ThankGodForStartUpCulture. Today? 7:20 am and I’m getting dropped down town. #FML. I am NOT a morning person. The best part? My office isn’t even occupied until 9am. Instead of asking for a key and chilling in the creepy office alone I have found pure enjoyment in kickin’ it at the Coney Island each morning and people watching. They also have no Wifi. Bad? No, not really. It’s actually forcing me to spend more time creating prints for my Etsy shop. The growth I’ve produced in only 3 days by spending an additional 2 hours each morning on something I love has been astonishing. #TheUpside.

I ran a Facebook promotion for my side business. . . I hated it. I work in social yet I despise social media because of it. I thought I would give Facebook another chance for my personal side business – as they have dicked me over in my professional world time and again – WHAT a waste of life. (Oh, and $5.) Seriously though, I can’t stop verbally attacking FB today, or any day. It’s like word vomit and I don’t even . . .

Moving On: My daughter finally used the potty this weekend! #Yay! Our dog immediately followed up the celebration by eating the baby’s shit OUT of the potty. #Boo.

I’m being a super slacker already. I’m writing this post as I sit on a couch in my office listening to one of the owners speak out of his ass about our company to a bunch of IT students from a local community college. I feel slightly guilty as I set up this event with the college placement dept. and elected him to speak (since he loves to hear himself talk). He’s honestly really good at BS’ing and it’s the perfect event for such a vibrant individual with such a colorful personality -no he’s not gay, just obnoxious in a good way- that is until we realized he knows nothing about Information Technology. #WingItBaby! #ILoveMyJob. But seriously, I must have missed the part where it was going to be only IT students. #Woops?

I had my hair colored last Thursday. I love it. I can’t stop looking at it. It could be my favorite color ever and I don’t even care if I’m being a vain Bitch right now. #ILookGood.

I sit next to a kid (he’s literally 21) named Andrew at my work who answers customer calls. He never believes me when I tell him he looks like Carl from Walking Dead (probably because he doesn’t watch the show) . . . until I found this hat, took these pictures and made this collage. #TheEnd. I would also like to note that Carl is a little rat and for any of you that watch the show, he ALMOST deserved what he was about to get on the season finale. . . Almost.

I have 3 showers for the next 3 weekends. I’m already annoyed and I haven’t even decided on what I’m going to wear yet. #TheWorstPart – I seriously hate dressing up in general and baby/wedding showers seem to be my biggest downfall.

Lastly,

I stole the photos and URL’s for today’s  link-ups (provided below) from Amanda over at Voyage of the MeeMee‘s blog because I was too lazy to scroll through my 300+ unread blogs to find each of your posts. . . I swear I will read them in a hot second, just let me get this off the press first. #ItsBeen5Days! #Thanks. XO.

If you have something to get off your chest on this beautiful little Wednesday, make sure you stop on over at Vodka And Soda for Kathy’s Weekly “Humpday Confessions” and link-up any post your heart desires with Liz From Fitness Blondie for her weekly Hump Day Blog Hop!!
