She’s Not Dead Yet. *

So yesterday, I received an unfortunate text from my mother that my father and her had decided they were going to be puting our Pug, Bailee to rest. This text came in at approximately 1:00 pm. I was at my desk, surrounded by coworkers. . . It wasn’t the most appropriate environment to be receiving this news, but since I lack the ability to produce tears at a moment’s notice, I survived the initial reaction. I couldn’t decide if I was more upset that Bailee was indeed going to be leaving this earth, or that my mother felt it was appropriate to inform me of this life altering (literally) decision via. text message.

– By The Way This Artist’s Stuff on Amazon is Adorbs- May Actually Purchase This Pug Pic As A Gift For My Mom! ♥

Now don’t get me wrong, I know what my mother was thinking. I’m at work, she doesn’t want to bother me. Not to mention she was probably a mess herself as Bailee was always considered “Her” dog and didn’t feel much like talking about it. I totally get all of this. But I was more confused as to why I was JUST now hearing about this, why nobody thought to clue me in that the Pug was doing that horrible, that this was all of a sudden the clear and present option!? Granted, I haven’t lived in their house since 2004, but still!! Regardless of my confusion, this was happening. I was of course upset but I knew that this decision would be best for Bailee. A little background: Bailee is 13 (or 14? Not entirely sure) and she’s been suffering from congestive heart failure for a while now. They prescribed her Lasix a while back and while this helped in the short-term, it was never a solution. With that in mind, my parents made the difficult decision to have Bailee put to sleep and I know that she’s in a far better place today.

Now keeping in mind that I received this text from my mother at around 1:00 pm and that this text said they would be having Bailee put down that afternoon, I figured this was only a few hours away. Vets typically run house calls in a 9-5 timeframe right? Wrong. Upon departing work (around 6:00 pm), I decided to post a heartfelt and slightly humorous Facebook message in Bailee’s memory. I found the cutest photo I could find (trust me there aren’t many – she had an incident 4 days after she was brought home which landed her at the vet with hot-pink “FrankenPug” stitches and a lifetime of crooked vision) and made a post that I felt was best suited for Bailee’s wistful departure. . . .

Screen Shot 2014-02-18 at 11.13.44 AM

That was until I realized that I’m posting a morbid obituary for our still suffering and very much alive, dog. #Shit. After which, hilarity ensued. Was I embarrassed? No. Did I feel a little guilty? No, I felt more like an ass. Was I laughing out loud as I read my mother’s reply in the parking lot of my office? Absolutely. The upside: I found myself able to rush home and FaceTime Bailee one last time. It was comforting to let Paige say goodbye in her own innocent and unknowing way while also saying farewell to a dog I’d known half my life. . . While this overall hasty decision prevented us from any decent and in-person farewell, Steve Jobs made the most of our time together by supplying a little “Apple Care” and gave us one last memorable moment.

Later on, the evening was flooded with a number of comments ranging anywhere from thoughtful memories, to “LMAO @Chelsea” comments. While Bailee was always the brunt of many a joke, it was only appropriate that I took the cake on her final day. . . .  I couldn’t have planned a better or more ass-clowned way for the Pug to go out. It was humor at its finest and I’m glad, if anything, it made my mother laugh in light of an awful afternoon. I love you Bailee! Keep living that “Thug Pug Life” and say hello to Cosmo, Yoda, the Birds, Flush and all 1,3465 hamsters we never needed for me! Xo.

Cheers!

Love Is . . . *

In honor of today, I wanted to take a moment to quickly express some of the things that I love. I should probably start by stating that I don’t believe in “V-Day”. I think it’s absolutely absurd to dedicate a sufficient amount of love into just one day. Love is something that should be given daily, hourly. It’s what keeps us alive, patient, personal and imperfect as people. To love is to be honest. Honest is what I would like to be today, and every day. Honest and in love.

hearts garland

If anything, today is about being in love. Maybe it’s not a person, to many it doesn’t have to be! We glamorize this day as a reason to celebrate intimacy and affection, to share it with another person. Why? Why not just celebrate everything we love?  I feel if I’m going to celebrate this day, I will celebrate all aspects of love and today I’m lucky in love in plenty of ways. . . .

Comforting Confessions – It’s Wednesday Bitches! *

So it’s Wednesday and since I had no clue what I wanted to post about today, besides maybe my new Blog Layout (AKA Confession # 1: I actually just accidentally deleted my Theme on WordPress last Friday and have NO damn clue how to put it back together. . . .so new Layout it is!), I figured I should finally jump on board the “Humpday Confessionals” band wagon with Kathy over at Vodka & Soda!  I meant to take part last week but work got in the way #TheNerve.

Humpday Confessions

With that being said. . . . lets re#hash my week and all those embarrassing moments it may or may not have included.

Confession #2: On Sunday . . . I went to Michael’s Craft Store, then to Joann Fabrics and then back to Michael’s Craft Store (again) all in a 1.5 hour span over saving merely $1.10 on a paint marker. #FuckingCoupons. This isn’t the first time it’s happened and if Hobby Lobby had been open (and had a 40% off coupon as well), I probably would have stopped there too. I have an obsession with craft store coupons. I plot out my every adventure when attempting these endeavors making sure to always stop, shop and re-stop where the coupons will offer the biggest benefit. I am NOT however a “Crazy Coupon Lady” better known as someone probably aspiring to also be a “Crazy Cat Lady” but just lacks enough cats to fill the quota. I do however enjoy saving 40% off on over-priced art materials that I typically need for Etsy orders and when these stores mark everything down as it is, it’s a complicated mission to say the least. I would like to be clear when I say that I don’t clip coupons from the grocery store. I will not buy 4 tubes of toothpaste just to save myself $.40. That’s what Costco is for. #Noobs.

I also wish my Husband’s Grandparents would FUCKING STOP politely abandon clipping coupon from Krogers, Meijers, CVS, Walgreens, RiteAid, and every other local food chain in the area for me. (They clip each one out individually, deliver them to our house weekly – Literally EVERY Coupon). I will NEVER use them. . . I feel bad throwing their hard work away. #ButIDoItAnyways. I will however confess to enjoying some Kohl’s Cash here and there and often dabble in “edible mailers” (McDonalds Coupons, Pizza Coupons, Biggby Coffee Coupons delivered to my doorstep- I made up the term “Edible Mailers”. #FeelFreeToUseIt). OH and lets not forget the Bed Bath and Beyond Coupons- The Only Coupon Worth Collecting. I will turn a car around bitches!

While my husband found 15,678 reasons to text me “Where Are You” while I was on this crafting crusade, I didn’t feel the internal desire to text him back a fake excuse, nor did I feel he deserved my actual excuse as it could be deemed [crazy] by any normal man.

  • Did I feel bad I was gone for 2 hours? Nope.
  • Did I waste more than $1.10 in gas obtaining this sale price? Absolutely. Maybe?
  • Did I add additional (and unnecessary) miles on to my soon to be over, leased Jeep? Shit Yes.

Fucks Given: 0.

Confession #3: I may or may not have totally over-quoted an Etsy inquiry in opposition to another shop’s listing in hopes to avoid the customer’s excessive order in question. . . . only to wake up and realize the customer thought my quote was a “steal” and processed the order anyhow. #FML Now I have to make 400 individually personalized (and stamped) vintage luggage tags for some crazy amount of honey jars at some bitches wedding. I seriously did NOT want to take on this order right now. #Lazy. I thought by over-bidding another shop by $40( who also has the exact tags she’s looking for) that she may realize this and tell me to “F Off” – Clearly she’s not a bargain shopper like myself and in turn, I got the order anyhow. This lady is also a self proclaimed “wedding planner” – Aren’t they supposed to price shop for you?? Great Odin’s Raven am I happy I didn’t hire someone to over-spend for me while simultaneously charging me to do so. #IdiotBrides While I’m never one to turn down an order (I seriously LOVE My Etsy Shop) I do, however, have a thing against certain items I list in my own shop as they are more difficult to make then others. . . . I would take them down but they seem to be the items that everybody wants. #OfCourse.

Confession #4: It’s been 8 days and I still can’t figure out how in the hell to add “Pin It” buttons to my photos on my blog. This is the hardest confession to give as I work in Social Media and should be able to figure this shit out. . . .  I can only find like 100 blogs that post “How To’s”. Anyhow, can someone out there PLEASE help me?! #Thanks.

So there is that. Glad to get all of that off my chest (got enough on here already #HumbleBrag #DontCare) . . . now on with the rest of the week! – What are some of your confessions? Make sure you stop on over at Vodka&Soda to Link Up with Kathy and share some of your own!

Oh and make sure you stop by to check out my “bedroom makeover” tomorrow, while I confess (#5) I didn’t really remember to take pictures BEFORE we started remodeling, it’s still something I’m rather proud of, so results are all you’ll be getting! Happy Hump Day!

Cheers!

Friday Favorites: We MUST Talk About Baby Humans *

So it’s Friday. Last night my father messaged me on Facebook (Yes, he’s that tech savvy apparently), and he informed me that upon stalking my name on google (He must do this often because as tech savvy as he is, he’s also paranoid from time to time- which aren’t all people over the age of 40 working around the internet?) he came across my blog. #Busted. I totally haven’t started sharing this nonsense with my friends and family yet because, well, I’m lost. I don’t know what the hell I’m even doing on here but so far I’m satisfied. And that’s all that matters. ME. I also haven’t begun sharing because it’s something I want to be not a fucking shit show “well established” once I let my outside world in. I need a flow, or a theme or something people actually care about? I don’t even know. I’m just rambling.

I then started to think about what weekly routines I want to start on my blog. Something that can perhaps gauge interest or become a fun tradition for people to get involved in? I guess that my first idea was Friday Favorites. Everyone loves Fridays, it’s just common knowledge. Why not make them even better by spending my morning talking about some of my favorite things? (No Matter HOW Random They May Be). I mean who doesn’t want to make a great day greater? And even if your Friday may be going to hell, you can get online and read, share and laugh in the randomness that makes my world spin. It’s all I could think of so far, besides that I should probably make a point to do my “Creative Chaos” posts on Thursdays because that’s when I typically attempt something random around my house. I then realized at this point that I would be holding myself more accountable to this blog. #Shit. While I have limited followers and absolutely no idea how to gauge an interest in my boring little life, I think this is the correct direction to be heading in. Plus I’m all about organization so I mine as well get this blog in order since my life is anything but.

Baby Humans 1

With that being said, I would like to spend this first ♥Friday Favorites♥ talking about Baby Humans. Baby Humans are defined by me as: a small baby or toddler that is dressed like an adult, teen or someone in their 90s. Over all they are mature in image and underdeveloped in reality. Probably the cutest things to grace the planet. While they may rock that Burberry scarf and Lacoste sweater, they are secretly unrolling your toilet paper around the corner. It couldn’t be more practical. They make my life. While I pin these little creatures left and right, I’ve taken a few moments to share my absolute favorite photos of these adorable little minis and conclude with some Baby Gap outfits (My Personal Downfall- Baby Clothes Shopping) that will thus result in me continuing to dress my own mini as a Baby Human. I can’t wait! Lets get this started.

* I’m slightly more partial to the Baby Human women as I have a girl of my own but I’ve managed to find some absolutely fabulous mini men as well. . . Please Enjoy. Also note, these photos are NOT mine and a source link is provided upon clicking each photo. I would also like to personally thank the Photographers, Bloggers, and Etsy Owners that took the time to dress these Little Humans and photograph them for my viewing pleasure. I ♥!

Before I forget – My Own Baby Human! ♥

Ok So There Is That. My ♥Friday Favorites♥ of Baby Humans. I would like to sincerely thank the photographers again and advise all the people who purchased this baby attire to please forward me all links as to where I can purchase. I actually want for myself as well but I’ll settle for dressing vicariously through my daughter. . . which has presented a large issue during my “Retail Therapy” sessions. #OoOops.

Lastly, I will give you a small dose of my future purchasing conquest. . . as I seldom open emails from GAP (because I know I will cave under their Baby Human cuteness pressure – Oh and the 40% coupons), I have accidentally stumbled across their new spring Baby Human line. . . . it’s all must have. #NoLie. I’ve collected some of my personal faves. . . I hope Paige agrees.

Baby Gap Ensemble

So with that I will conclude my first ♥Friday Favorites♥! I am not gonna lie, this post made my morning already. It’s kinda nice to switch it up from the constant “Things That Drive Me Crazy” posts or the “Guilty As Charged” sessions. . . Just post what makes you happy- some of your favorites!! Love me some Baby Humans and now I can’t wait for 5-0’clock!

Do any of you have children? What are some of your favorite places to shop? I Love New Ideas!!!

Also, Feel free to comment a few of your favorite things! – Get in on the action, I love the positivity (& Humor) this instills in my Friday!

Cheers!

Cheddar Bay Biscuits & Quaaludes *

So it’s Tuesday. I haven’t had a single post since last Monday. . . as you probably read, it was a rough one. The whole week was really. I swear I was working on a post for the past 4 days but it crashed without saving a single word yesterday afternoon, to which I said Fuck It. I then quickly realized my computer had a virus!!! It’s an Apple. They never get viruses. It’s unheard of, impossible! Well, lets just say when your husband convinces you that his coworker owns a copy of “Wolf of Wallstreet” that we can download on to my computer to watch at home. . . .it’s probably NOT legit. Like really? Not sorry about it though. I enjoyed the hell out of that movie from my very comfy couch with a Biggby Frozen Hot Chocolate and some Goldfish crackers. #MyLife.

It was great quality too (I was expecting the Seinfeld bootleg), something about being for “ratings viewing only” kept scrolling across the tippy top of the screen from time to time but hey, I give it a TV MA (and then some). It was wildly inappropriate but was all together fantastic. A little long like people had mentioned but at no point was I ever bored. I think the entire premise of the film was to fill you in on the illicit lives of these wall street execs and show you the trouble they were getting themselves into. If you ask me it just made me want to go sell a few penny stocks and do a bunch of cocaine. #KiddingAside, This movie was outright rowdy! I suggest you watch it for the pure and simple fact that Leo is a genius ( ♥ HIM ) and it’s just truly hilarious. Jonah isn’t too bad either. Ps. #IfYouDon’tLikeBoobsThisFilmIsNOTForYou.

So anyhow, lets move on to Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Through typical mundane conversation, my friend Ashley and I were discussing the wretched places that her 7 year old daughter wants to go for her birthday dinner this weekend (her birthday is Sunday- Paige can’t wait to go to the party – once discovering all parties/showers include cake, she’s a fan. #whoknew? PS. She picked Red Robin). Since it’s also my Husband’s birthday Friday and MY birthday Saturday, she asked us what our plans were for the celebrations. . . . to which I realized that our birthday weekend was in no way going to be as exciting as a 7 year olds. We just planned on going to dinner Friday with our parents and daughter. #GettingOld.

We’ve always celebrated together, because, well, why the hell not? It would be idiotic to try and cram another event on our busy calendar when we can simply blow candles together. Plus it’s fun. We exchange gifts at the stroke of midnight – When Pj’s Birthday ends and My Birthday begins. It’s kinda the routine we came up with our first year together to “share” the day. When Ashley asked where we were going to eat (apparently NOT Red Robin), I realized I had no idea. This however didn’t bother me. . . I can really go anywhere . . . Except Chilli’s. They really went down hill over the past few years and I despise their lazy attempt at a half-assed tex-mex menu. I mean seriously, it’s well known the midwest’s Mexican food sucks, I’m well aware. But if you’re gonna go for it, give it all you got. Ribs?? Really? Since when was that a favorite? #ChillisYou’reStupid. If I could go anywhere for dinner it would be San Diego. Yes, the city. Between Taco Fiesta and The Donut Bar, I could create the outright best birthday dinner / desert combo this girl has ever seen.

Regardless, these fantastic destinations don’t exist in the mitten and while I can daydream all I want, I in no way  will ever get my hands on these delightful treats before the 1st. So, with that said- Cheddar Bay Biscuits. I don’t even like Red Lobster all that much, and if you know me, I HATE CHEESE. (Yeah I know it’s weird, I hear it all the time. Just deal with it for the time being and we can address this subject at another time.) BUT: These scrumptious little morsels are found warm, toasty and never ending on every table in the joint. How CAN you eat just one?! #SoTrue

I’m a huge fan and their is no denying it. I could eat an entire basket to myself, no shame. While I continued my conversation with Ashley, I mentioned that I may or may not utilize my daughter’s inability to produce sentences to my advantage and have proclaimed her love for these biscuits on more than one occasion. Thus hinting the desire she has mom has to visit Red Lobster. This isn’t a total lie. She did eat 2 biscuits before dinner even arrived when she was only 1 year old and roughly 15 pounds. I think the math speaks for itself. #SheLovesThemToo.

This is when the tables were turned. Now PAY ATTENTION: I have spent many a months pinning recipe after recipe hoping to find one copycat that didn’t require a space ship and 14 different herbs included. While I am all about making something myself whenever possible, some of these “DIY Copy Cat Recipes” are for the birds. Honestly? I’m lazy. I want instant satisfaction. On that note, I give you THIS:

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Cheddar Bay Biscuit MIX! Ok, listen. I am sure these have been around for like years at this point, and NO, I didn’t have a clue. But it’s things like that this make my Tuesday and for everyone out there that already knew. . . shame on you for not posting about it sooner! I’ve yet to see this make my pin-feed but I’ve seen 101 DIY recipes. I can’t honestly be expected to pull that shit off on a week night. #LetsBeReal.

All in all, I have NO idea where we are going to dinner this weekend. I still haven’t mentioned it to my husband and I’m positive my in-laws probably have somewhere in mind already. But knowing that these priceless little treasures are out there makes this decision all the more relaxed. I can sleep easy tonight in knowing that I can enjoy the pleasure of these biscuits from the comfort of my home . . .  and if we end up at Denny’s this Friday, at least we didn’t waste an evening without Never Ending Shrimp. #NobodyGoesToRedLobsterForTheLobster.

What are some famous treats gone “grocery” that you know of?? Always looking for new trends!! 🙂

Cheers!

Fuck You Mondays . . . *

So I went off to bed last night not entirely sure what I would feel like posting today . . . until today started.

monday you bastard

Oh My Lord. . . . I haven’t had a Monday this bad in years! To start, I’ve been visiting a chiropractor for an achy shoulder situation this past week and I wake up ten times last night in killer pain. . . . (clearly the Chiro is not helping). Roll out of bed to get my daughter ready for school and rush around per usual in a chaotic yet, completely insane manner. . . only to leave the house forgetting some password my husband needed me to text him . . . .

Turn around. Get Pissed. Swear in front of child. . . . apologize, sort of. Proceed to head back to school. Out of windshield wiper fluid. #OfCourse  Pull in parking lot, unbuckle Paige. . . . teacher comes strolling out to remind me “She doesn’t have school today”. #FML. Call my in-laws. Ask if they can watch her? Yes. Get back in car. Swear More. Don’t bother apologizing, too late for that now. Drive all the way across town. Drop Paige off. Angry Baby. Annoyed Mom. Back to work . . . .half hour late.

case of the mondays

Sit down at my computer and attempt to work. Remind myself to pay bills (what every human wants to do on a Monday – #Yesss). Pay ALL the wrong bills for this current pay cycle. Swear Profusely. Do NOT apologize. Start to wince, take computer to back closet. Proceed to almost cry in dark closet. Call bank and ask that my large student loan payments be stopped. NO Can Do. #FML. Swear More. Try to see in what way I can flip my bills around and somehow still pay on time and not be poor. Not possible. Phone bill’s due tomorrow. . . . #GonnaBePoor. Go to heat up coffee in office microwave. Blow Fuse. . . . . . . #SayFuck. Sit down and write this post.

It’s only 12:30 PM. That’s only the half of it!! (Literally).

I brought a turkey sandwich for lunch. A Margarita sounds better. Or Maybe a Cupcake. Or maybe, BOTH!

margarita cupcake

*Thank You BrownEyedBaker For This Tantalizing Image To Get Me Through My Day.

Oh Monday. . . .Fuck You

I would also like to note that I have NEVER in my life paid all the wrong bills and that I can honestly say that I don’t always hate Mondays, I actually consider them a fresh start! Oh but this Monday. . . . This I can’t ignore.  While I was already aware this week would be a challenge, this is just NOT what I needed to kick it off. Maybe I’m being tested so that the rest of this week won’t seem so horrid? #WhoKnows.

What Hell Stricken Mondays Have You Had?

Cheers!

A Truly Happy (& Slightly Tardy) Year-End Report *

As I prepare a short recap (Yeah Right This Took Me 14 Days To Publish) of my 2013, I would first like to share that I am in NO way ready to begin 2014. . . . While I’m well aware that (it’s already begun) you’re supposed to look forward to the changes and growth a new year symbolizes, I am not entirely sure I can top 2013! I’m all for change, it’s probably one of my favorite constants. BUT, looking back on such a fantastic year, this helpless smart ass has become a tad sentimental and would like to pretend it’s just not yet ending. . . .

Screen Shot 2013-12-31 at 2.04.06 PM

With all that being said, lets #Rehash (pun intended) my 12 amazing Months of 2013. . . . !!

January:

The Year of The Wedding! Planning began to take up all spare moments of my life. . . . 5 months and counting, it was crunch time! I will have you know that I WAS in fact one of those crazy bitches that took it upon myself to build practically anything and everything for the special day . . . .I will blog on this later (No I probably wont, lets be real, I hated every ounce of stress associated with that day) but for now here are some of the things I was completing last January when “Bride Mode” really kicked in. . .

While braving the cold, we hunker down and get to work on booking our Bachelor/Bachelorette parties and my flight to Atlanta for my best college (golf) girlfriend, Sara’s wedding! To wrap the month up, my soon-to-be hubby turned 30 on the 31st! We celebrated a wonderful night out in Detroit with 3 rooms at Greektown, 30+ friends and a Ghostbusters Cake made by yours truly! (It was my first experience with fondant and I instantly fell in HATE all while adoring the results!)

Screen Shot 2013-12-31 at 2.31.07 PM

Lastly, Paige Starts WALKING!!

February:

The first is MY BIRTHDAY!! I secretly hate my birthday but this year’s was kinda fun. I am born the day after my hubby (+ 3 Years) and I ADORE that he can semi-steal the show *We Share Our Birthday Party Since We’ve Met*. . . I’m not a big fan of being the center of attention. But I will say that his 30th made for an over-the-top 27th for yours truly! Can’t complain about a night out, friends, casino and hotel room with 3 boys who came back to the room lathered in strip club butter-(insert sarcasm here). . . . Regardless, it was still a night out. Mommy doesn’t get that many. I spent the month slaving away at wedding related nonsense and found time for a few fun family events. . .

Paige’s First “Hockey Game” or Watching my coworkers play at the local rink on a league rather but still fun all the same! Enjoyed a Margarita or two & learned our colors. . . . we basically spent a good amount of “down time” as this was the LAST Chaos free month we would have for the entire YEAR. #NotKidding. Side Note: (& Very Proud Mommy Moment) – Paige Pick Up A Golf Club, Finally!

March:

Our Wedding Shower! This was a hectic, wonderful and disorganized but we got some wonderful gifts! I was so happy to spend the weekend with my best friends and MOH Heather, who flew in from California for the fun weekend! We had a great time and spent the evening celebrating St. Patty’s Day, any Irish girl’s favorite occasion!

The night of the shower and the next day we decided to hit the streets of Detroit and celebrate St. Pat’s. . . .

Next came The Novi Golf Expo which is the largest golf event held each spring. I work for GroupGolfer.com and we spend each year prepping for the event to host some of the largest tents at the show. It’s a whole weekend of work and while I was busy working 14 hours days my husband decided to create his first feature film. . . . Paige’s First YouTube Appearance . It was beyond entertaining, I hope you enjoy.

Finally was Easter and an unexpected early trip to the park. Weather broke for a day and we couldn’t wait to get to the playground! ♥ Her.

April:

April was a BUSY BUSY month. I spent most of the time traveling and while I complained about not being home a month before my wedding it was probably the best idea I ever had in planning. . . I needed the break and I LOVE TRAVELING. I cannot express that enough. I literally would just travel ALL the time if able. I get the biggest rush ever just experiencing new everything, it’s always been my passion . . . along with photographing every new adventure! Seriously, if I could just retire tomorrow and see the world I would be the happiest bitch on earth but lets be real, I’m 27, newly married and mother to a toddler. Money is a figment of my imagination, along with time!! Amidst all the traveling was our first annual Tigers Game! (We are Detroit Fan FREAKS!) Me and hubby scored from freezing cold tickets but it was a fun filled afternoon for sure! 🙂

Anyhow, Atlanta came first. Sara’s wedding to be precise. . . . We traveled ALL day for this one, not to mention it was the same weekend as the Masters (For all of you not familiar with Golf it’s like the BIGGEST event of the season- IN Augusta, GA) and everyone and their brother was boarding planes for Atlanta too- Which might explain why my tickets were a rip! I took off from Flint- Landed in Detroit (mind you I’m still in the same state-The Nerve!) then head to Atlanta where I get off the plane and saddle up with a Man named “Buddy” (Real Name, Not the Elf – His grandfather owns the Atlanta Falcons or something random) who drives me 4 full hours into the Florida Georgia line. No, not the song, but I will say that after experiencing such a place, I have a new appreciation for their tunes. ❤ my Country Music! The wedding was absolutely amazing (minus not being able to watch The Masters ALL weekend and having to keep up on current affairs where work’s concerned!!!! – Sorry Sara had to say it, we played GOLF together in college, WHAT were you thinking!?!?) and Sara was absolutely beautiful. I also got to spend my few hours on Sunday before flying out with great family friends who moved to Atlanta when I was 7. . . the Poulos Family who took me to lunch in their cute little suburb of Atlanta which I could totally see myself living in. 60+ bars in a one mile stretch with historic southern homes and upscale condos. It was divine, and basically topped off the trip. . . along with Adam Scott winning the Masters. ♥ In Love with HiM. . . Please See Photo Below and you will understand exactly why that is. #AussieHeaven.

Next came my Bachelorette Party!!! San Diego to start followed by a road trip with the girls to VEGAS. I can’t tell you how much fun this was. . . I literally CAN’T. It’s my Bachelorette Party. It’s supposed to be a hush hush affair! I will say we were anything BUT quiet. . . oh and that the Donut Bar in San Diego – Thanks Bryan for the introduction, has the most unreal Donuts I’ve ever tasted and thus lead me on a year long obsession to open my own wild donut shop in Detroit. (This has no yet panned out, FYI). Regardless, the trip started out with a Mimosa breakfast on Pacific Beach, a night out in SD followed by a road trip through the desert to an oasis of old friends, free drinks, good times, limos and bikinis. It was a riot! Even the moms came. 🙂 I’m a very lucky girl. Ps. YES, I packed that many shoes. Don’t judge me.

Now that the adventures were over, it was crunch time. On to the next month!

May:

MARRIED MONTH!! Manicures, spray tans, meetings, makeup, mimosas. . . .It was about the be a whirlwind of a month but we could hardly wait! So lets cut to the chase, we got married on May 11th, it was 70 degreed (pretty standard for a Michigan May) all week leading up to the wedding and the day of . . it had to be a high if 40 degrees and raining. Seriously. WORST case scenario- that was us. All the planning and all the worrying just didn’t matter any more. I was stressed as all hell and nothing could change that but in the end we were married and we danced and we were in love. OH and when they say try to stop and just recall you day, seriously do that. It flies by and that year of stressing was all for nothing so just try to take a minute and remember what you’re doing there in the first place! LOVE. – As you can clearly see I’m not one for wedding blogging. I thought I would try that when I first had the idea but I would rather NEVER go through that bullshit again.

I can honestly say that I’m the luckiest girl in the world. (Sorry to get all sappy and shit, it’s something I’m personally working on – to be more grateful; with that comes extreme mush and slight sarcasm in random bursts. . . gratefully sarcastic you say? Totally possible; just try this: I fucking adore how you throw your socks all around the living room when you get home from the gym babe, I couldn’t ask for a better hubby, I really am the luckiest girl in the world”. #WifeLife. But seriously, I had a wonderful wedding and it was one of the most stressful yet enjoyable moments in my life. Sitting here 7 months in to being married, I feel like it’s only gotten better. Every day I’m a happier person for where my life is. Some days I may have to remind myself more than others but I really do have the best husband in the world, he’s my other half. ♥ Struggle is inevitable but it’s how you’re equipped to deal with it that matters and I can say that together, we can deal with anything. That and lots and lots of laughter. . . and sarcasm. From here on out . . .#WifeLife.

Following the wedding was of course the honeymoon . . . .  To start we missed our flight, #Woops. That was totally my bad. I had flown out of Flint ( a smaller airport north of Detroit) twice the month before and didn’t see the reason behind getting there any more than an hour before departure. Well apparently leaving the country requires a baggage check for customs no later than 1 hour. Yeaaaaahhhh . . . about that, we got there 56 minutes before the flight. I’m one stubborn ass bitch when I want to be and it finally bit me in the ass. . . . .I broke down in tears (and I’m NOT the crying type). After the horrible luck of our wedding day and now this, I was just an emotional bubble waiting to burst. An hour later we had everything figured out and would be back that afternoon to depart for Atlanta (once again) for a lay over which turned out to be a close second to our $800 a night ocean side suite. . . but really it was! We stayed with my friends from before (Please Refer Back To April) and went to dinner, were surprised by some friends that were just at our wedding and had a great night out! It was an amazing night followed by the best trip EVER to Punta Cana. Pj had never left the country and I’m afraid our resort may have ruined any future experience he may have. . . . it was an unreal adventure that was a perfect way to wind down after the wedding!

Ahhh I wish I could live there every day! It was absolutely amazing. The beach, the sunrises, the room, the FOOD, dinner on the beach, boat rides, snorkeling, casino, Enrique (our server who we loved)- Also a commonly used name for a “friendly” female electronic toy (ie. Fernando, Horhey, Enrique Etc.) . . . it was an absolute dream come true. I would recommend the Now Larimar in Punta Cana to everyone!!

June:

We finally settled back into normal (Married!) life. We spent the month trying to declutter our lives and jumped into remodeling our kitchen. We wanted to get a rustic, modern look with out breaking the bank so we decided to upgrade in the most monetarily responsible way we could think of. . . .

Paint For Cabinets: $90. New Hanging Microwave: $300. Daich Spreadstone Countertop Paint: $100. Wood for Backsplash: $40. Stain for Wood: $15. New Hardware for Cabinets: $40. Ikea Shelving: $150. SandPaper, Nails, Brushes, Rollers Etc. : $30. Wine Rack / Glass Holders: $15. Other Stuff?/: $50

Over all it was well under $1,000.00 and we completely transformed the kitchen into a dream. The backsplash is what really made it pop and it’s a total Pinterest Dream Kitchen!! ♥ My Hubby actually had the idea for the wood “pallet” looking backsplash which is something I always wanted but I NEVER thought he would go for. He did an AMAZING job. I just did all the painting, he was behind all the rest. It turned out fabulous-We LOVE it. We had also waited to unpack all our wedding shower gifts until AFTER the remodel so it was a lot of organizing but in the end everything was brand new and so pretty! 🙂 The First photo gives you an idea of the chaos that this project took on for over a week. . . . DIY is SO worth it though!

Once this project was finally finished, we looked ahead to other fun seasonal events. Lots of weddings, a number of concerts at DTE and some endless nights with family and friends enjoying the Michigan Summer to it’s fullest!

July:

Paige Turns Two!! Ok, I’ll admit. I am always about NOT being the crazy “Mother Stewart” of the neighborhood who tries to do it all while working a full time job and keeping her sanity BUT birthday parties are my one and total downfall. I am a crazy bitch when it comes to deciding a theme, colors, deserts, favors, etc. I am in no way supporting the games mothers play in comparing who does what better. . . I’m actually a huge supporter of doing your own damn thing, F all the rest. But- I don’t do this to impress you, I don’t do it because it’s all the rave, I do it because I genuinely am obsessed with being creative and the aspect of planning an entire event centered around my favorite tiny human is just the icing on the cake- literally!

I wanted to be an event planner for a living. Hell, I still do. I not only think I would be damn good at it, I KNOW I would be really damn good at it. I am obsessed with every minute detail and couldn’t be happier when everyone else is enjoying themselves. I like to see creativity from start to finish and will pine over something that’s completely useless for hours. . . .While I do need to work on making sure that I myself enjoy the party, (not just try to run it from behind the scenes) I will say that in no way am I sorry for trying to throw the most elaborate fiesta ever. I enjoy a good cupcake and I relish in a mimosa bar. . .  I don’t even care that my mother in law thinks I’m bat shit crazy or that my daughter can’t physically say “thank you” – nor does she understand the concept, for all the hard work I’ve done for her, that I slaved over fondant or was up all night baking/decorating 70 + cupcakes. . . as I said before, I do this for me. And Yes, I’m completely and 100% fucking nuts but I get complete self satisfaction out of it. . . #WinWin. You’re welcome.

So yes, I had a photo booth. I saw the idea on Pinterest where the mom has balloons for the background and had her camera set up in the house. . . I managed to move my theory outside and create a fabric backdrop – I have a sick obsession with my Pinterest boards. I now make photo booth backdrops at my Etsy shop because of the overwhelming compliments I got at the party. Things happen for a reason I guess? I loved it! So many cute photos, I couldn’t post them all! My husband and I also decided to get Paige her first car. An Audi TT Roadster. Totally acceptable purchase. . . except I had to return the thing the Morning of her party because it wouldn’t charge!! Talk about stressing out, these are the exact type situations I consistently find myself in when trying to organize every minute of life. . . . just as my friends. We figured it out though and she ended up loving it! Such a diva baby. ♥ – We love you Paige!

July also marked the month that Paige would start SCHOOL! We decided to place her in Montessori two days a week just a short walk form my office downtown. We thought it might speed up her speech development, introduce her to other kids her age and teach her a variety of life skills. The Montessori is absolutely wonderful and we couldn’t be happier. If I needed them more (or had more money- HA) I would put her in 4 days. She truly enjoys is and it makes me a happy Mommy!!

August:

August was a whole lot of SUMMER. We spent the first weekend away in Chicago with friends experiencing our first ever Lollapalooza. It was an absolute blast! I got to see one of my old school favorite bands The Postal Service perform their last big show and I loved every second of it. We spent the rest of the time in the city bar hopping and seeing old friends . . . it was an amazing weekend! While I’m sure for the rest of the month we had an event scheduled every single weekend (because that’s just what life has become in your 20/30 somethings) it appears as if I had no major life events to worry about after LoLLa. I enjoyed a few more shows to close out the summer at DTE and spent the remainder of the season enjoying friends and time with Paige. Things were starting to calm down and aside from the 8 weddings/12 showers/11 bach parties we had combined (which I’m in no way posting about because that would take another 10 days to collect and recall) throughout the season, we actually had some time to enjoy Summer! Below are a few of my favorite pictures from August, taking Paige to the beach, concerts, Chicago and the lake. ♥ My MI Summers.

September:

One of my favorite weekends ever!! The GroupGolfer.com Patriot’s Day Shootout Golf Weekend at Tree Tops Golf Resort in Gaylord. I AM OBSESSED WITH GOLF. It’s been my favorite hobby since I was a teen and as I’ve grown older it’s become a major focal point of my career. I work at GroupGolfer.com and it’s basically the “Goupon” of golf! We run amazing daily deals for different courses and products around the country and in turn get to sponsor amazing events like the Patriot Day weekend for wounded veterans. It’s a 3 days trip with non-stop golf, time with co-workers and a cool events. . . . It’s so cool to be a part of this trip each year and an honor to be with a company that can give back to such a worthy cause. I Love My Job! ♥

The last two pictures are of my Eagle shot on the second day. Par 5. Playing Great! 🙂 I love the trip so much! After Labor Day in Gaylord, I came home for a short week of work then traveled North again the following Friday for a fun filled girls weekend in Midland. You see, I lived in Midland for 4 years while I attended Northwood University for my undergrad. I made some amazing friends while working at a local bar and I enjoy keeping in touch with these bitches from time to time. . . .this trip was way overdue and included a lot of rain, a bonfire and a quick 9 holes at my college course, Currie Municipal! Unfortunately “Muffin” is hiding in the last shot!! #WayToGoBitch!

After a fun weekend I head home to spend more quality time with Paige. We spent a lot of time in the park this month and even attended her first “School Picnic”! Dad and I head to the park just a short drive from our house and find a hidden gem of a place- George George Park. . . . Extremely stupid name BUT it was a ton of fun. We spent some additional time at the Rochester park later in the month, followed by Paige’s first ever Tigers Game!

As if this month wasn’t already busy enough, we some how found time to attend the Renaissance Festival way up in Holly, MI with my parents and squeezed in a little networking in Down Town Detroit with the B.O.M.A. Young Professionals Group. I was previously on the board of this committee before leaving my last job and it was great to go back and catch up with old friends and witness how far this group has finally come. . . they have done some amazing work getting people involved and the venue for this event on top of the M@dison building was just #holyhell, beautiful. I love Detroit. What a busy month!

October:

My Favorite Month! I love fall in Michigan. Boots, Scarves, Leaves, Pumpkins, Cider, Donuts and Carmel Apples. . . . Yes. Carmel Apples. A top 10 (personal) favorite food group and something I feel should be served year round; along with corn on the cob and Starbucks Eggnog Chai Latte. . . it’s not irrational it’s called cravings. . .. #LookItUp. Oh and peanuts are a MUST. I can’t say enough about this fall . . . we kicked off the first weekend trying to squeeze in some golf with our friends Adam and Erica at Lakewood Shores in Oscoda, MI. It was one rainy ass weekend but we survived and it was actually a blast. We had two room, 36 holes (The Gailes & Blackshire) and spent the night out watching the Tigers blow a playoff game but it was all worth the drive, the fall colors were incredible. Erica (Adam’s Girlfriend) is pretty new to the game so we had no idea what to expect, but she surprised us all! She can really hit the ball for a beginner and to be honest, she had a few shots better than the boys! Over all it was a trip we would love to do again and thanks to GroupGolfer.com we could totally afford the golf AND the gas! #WinWin. #BrokeFolkStillTravel

Once our clubs were retired for the season, I spent a good amount of time with family sharing my favorite season with Paige! We hit the park as much as possible where we discovered changing leaves, made one last stop at the zoo before the cold hit. . . . (we visited the zoo THREE times this year and I can bet next year will be twice that, we love it there), hit up a Lions Game with the Hubby and friends. . . .Explored The Rochester Cider Mill (I try to pick a new one each year to explore) and after a fantastic photo session, ended the month carving pumpkins and begging for candy! Trick-or-Treating was absolutely hilarious this year- Paige finally understood it all and while she started cranky and wet (I swear it rains EVERY DAMN YEAR!), she ended the night blowing kisses to all the neighbors and rifling through one hell of a haul of candy. It was a super way to end my favorite fall to date! ♥

November:

It’s finally cold. November was mostly about hibernation as we brace ourselves for the winter weather!  While I adore fall, I despise winter. I haven’t been skiing since college, I haven’t been ice skating since college, and I haven’t been sledding since college. . . . unless you count last year when I pulled Paige around our front yard (this is completely level mind you) for roughly 8 minutes. Overall, winter isn’t FUN anymore. It’s scraping ice off your car, wasting gas in 4 wheel drive, shivering to the core and always feeling like you need another car wash. That’s of course assuming you even wash your car in the winter, which I do not. Screw wasting $5 to pull out into a sea of salted roads, nothing more depressing then the god damn salt truck. It’s also the season of unexpected pot holes – something us MI people know all too well. Pretty sure we have the worst roads in all of North America. Anyhow, November was a dreary month with nothing but Football Sundays and some intermittent bowling, we finished the month off with turkey and a round-a-bout of three houses in one afternoon, it’s exhausting yet delish. Since this is the most boring month of the year, below you will find only a few photos of us taking Paige bowling for the first time at a charity event. . . . She picked up all my spares. Thank me later for sparing you one month of my life. . . I know it gets somewhat obnoxious but like I mentioned in my first Blog EVER, I do this for me, NOT you. Enjoy my year or shut your trap!

December:

While the month was absolutely PACKED with fun. I will spare you the abundance of photos and simply direct you to my earlier post. Here you will find all the magic of the holidays while also sympathizing with my failed attempt at photography. ( I will have you know I have NO clue as to what I’m doing yet with this passion but I hope to learn and grow in the coming months. . . so please, while there is still time- critique away. I can take it! #HellINEEDit! ). Christmas is a personal favorite for me again. As I grew out of this magical season, I have since began to enjoy all that it entails again through the eyes of my daughter. This year was her first “real” Christmas as she finally understood Santa, enjoyed making cookies, opening gifts, and spending time with family! It made the season ALL the more exciting for me and my hubby and while I can’t explain how sad I am to see it over, I’m so incredibly blessed to have spent it so perfectly. It was truly an incredible holiday for everyone in our lives. I will add a few favorite photos from the Rochester Christmas Parade (A Special Thank You T0 Tom & Jill For Inviting Us- It was the BEST Day!) as they made me realize how important this Christmas would finally be!

The last photo is when Paige finally sees Santa at the end of the parade. Her reaction is priceless and I wish I could relive this moment every single day! It’s the coolest. My favorite is that she would explain to people that she saw Santa by saying “Ho Ho” and waving. (She wasn’t exactly talking much yet. . . . boy have things change in only 3 weeks!) Christmas morning was a total treat and the level of anticipation between me and my husband was indescribable. I can hardly wait until next December and it really is the most magical time of the year.

So in closing, I would just like to thank you all for reliving the best year of my LIFE with me . . . . I know it’s an obnoxious post when it takes me literally 14 days to create – AKA this was a HORRIBLE fucking idea, BUT now that it’s finished I’m so happy to look back on the events of my 2013 and smile. While there will always be ups and downs, this past year was one for the books. Other unmentionables were that I chopped my hair, started my own Etsy Shop, attempted photography, declined my sex life (married-DUH) and started this blog!!

I look forward to what 2014 has in store but I will in NO way be creating another post of this nature. It was the most absurd adventure for any chronic procrastinator to set out on and while I have made some personal “new years resolutions” giving up Cheetos, Netflix and time with my family (all of which I was too busy doing to finish this post in a timely manner) aren’t any of them. I also regret to inform you that I in NO way went back and edited any of this as I am incredibly lazy. I apologize in advance for all typos and horrible grammar- I was more concerned with the fabulous photos. Thanks.

Happy New Year (13 Days Ago)! What are your favorite things about 2013?

A Festivus For The Rest Of Us! *

In honor of one of my favorite shows to have ever aired, I bring you the Festivus post! A huge fan of Seinfeld, I was raised to recognize this magical day . . . 15 years later we celebrate a decade and a half of playful consumer resistance and a Festivus For The Rest Of Us!

In honor of this magical day, I would like to share, for any of you who may not already know, the Festivus Experience. It’s first important to explain exactly why Festivus was created to begin with . . . . Please See Below.

I will now begin by explaining the customary practices of the holiday followed by a YouTube link to the episode so that you may fully understand the amazingness that is Festivus in it’s entirety. I will explain with some hilarious GIFS (I love GIFS if you haven’t caught on yet by now) and then conclude with my own Airing of Grievances. . . . I can hardly wait. Lets do it then, Festivus is BACK!

festivus newcomers

Main Components

When Is Festivus: Held on December 23rd.

fastivus when is it?

Festivus Pole: The tradition of Festivus begins with the display of an aluminum pole. (Great Strength:Weight Ratio). The Pole is to be displayed unadorned. The pole was chosen for it’s opposition to highly commercialized and decorated Christmas Trees. . . Also because the patron of Festivus, Frank Costanza finds “tinsel distracting” and sees the Pole as “very low maintenance”.

fastivus pole

The Festivus Dinner: A celebratory dinner in which some sort of meatloaf is served alongside a spaghetti paired with a mystery red sauce to those guests participating in the tradition. No alcohol is served during the meal. The meal is held on the evening of Festivus.

festivus dinner

The Airing of Grievances: The celebration of Festivus starts with the “Airing of Grievances” which begins immediately after the meal has been served.  Each Festivus participant explains to all friends and family the instances in which they have disappointed him or her that year.

Feats of Strength: The final tradition held in observance of the celebration of Festivus, the Feats of Stength are held immediately following (or sometimes during) the Dinner. The head of household selects a guest in which he would like to challenge to the Feats of Strength otherwise known as a wrestling match. The tradition states that Festivus will only end once the head of household has been defeated. It should be noted that the participant selected can decline the invitation (only if he has something else better to do). Failure to pin the head of household results in the event of Festivus continuing until said requirement is met.

Festivus Miracles: Events that Cosmo Kramer declares Festivus Miracles. . . . Typically events that are clearly explainable and in hindsight, not miraculous.

Below is the link to some of the most important moments of “The Strike” Seinfeld episode which clearly explains the fantastic holiday at hand. . . . Other important moments in the episode to note are George Costanza’s charitable “donation” to The Human Fund – Money For People (A fake charitable contribution he made in his co-worker’s names in which he has to back up by asking his Boss to join him at Festivus), and Cosmo’s strike at the bagel shop. Festivus YES! Bagels NO!

The Strike: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F73sMmb6CS0

The Human Fund

So in closing. I would like to wrap this holiday up with airing my own grievances. . . to my family of course. Paige, PLEASE swallow your food. Chewing one piece of chicken for over 30 minutes isn’t a productive way to ensure gaining weight. You’re a preemie and Mommy worries. I know it’s on rare occasion but seriously, you have NO problem swallowing an Oreo. Lets just get past this. Pj, PLEASE stop throwing your dirty ass socks around the living room like it’s New Years Eve. I love you but I want to punch you in the face wearing a dirty sock puppet. . . .something resembling this exact puppet (Please See Below). Nice work by the way, I’m sure your work skit partners felt the puppet was a true depiction of self. I do adore you for things like this photo though, true love can’t even compare! ♥

IMG_2649

He’s going to KILL me for posting this photo . . . #oooops?

Baxter (Our Dog), PLEASE refrain from sleeping in the closet like a weirdo so much, it makes me nervous that you’re so awkward. We love you, stop hiding from it. Embrace it. Enjoy it. Roll around in it as if we were the dirty worms in our yard that you enjoy so much. Myself, seriously PLEASE chill the F out. Life is not a play, you are not the director, and as much as you would like to think you’re in control, you’re not. Everything happens for a reason. Get over it. Life is Great!

Festivus

I appreciate the time you’ve all taken to read up on the Festivus tradition and by the time I post this, you’ll have all but 30 minutes left to celebrate. My apologies for my typical procrastination. (Another Grievance). Enjoy the holiday and please, let me know your own grievances and how you celebrate Festivus!!

Today’s “How To” : Maintain Your Det. Lions Fandom *

Few things most people recall from their childhood, but I’ve always vividly remembered my first “Daddy-Daughter” dance”, the awful smell (and outcome ) of my first perm -Thanks Mom, installing our first swimming pool, ice cream after tee-ball and my first broken bone. . . . as these things have become ingrained in the way I was brought up. Our parents, teachers, siblings and peers together help to guide us through some of the most magical and detrimental times a young person will survive, all the while enhancing valuable life lessons along the way.

Important Life Lesson #11: The Lions Have, Do and Always Will SUCK.

Born and raised in South East Detroit. The seasons change. The wind blows. Cars are made. Lions Lose. The only team in the entire NFL to never advance to a Super Bowl, defeat has become standard. Since before I can remember, I can always picture the Lions being a horrible, awful, depressing establishment contributing in no way to society. Comparable to mixing a variety of uppers and downers, the Lions have somehow managed to create a cult-like following more relatable to those nut jobs that actually enjoy Baileys and Coffee. I mean SERIOUSLY. There is no drunk, there is no “wake-up” it’s just a lose – lose for everyone involved. Sure- it tastes great, makes you all warm and fuzzy inside, smells of pure happiness, but when all is said and done, you’re sober, sleepy and outright empty inside – yet the real alcoholics (Lions Fans) can’t stop. We attend every sloppy ass tailgate, keep buying the tickets and next thing you know we actually believe they can win! It’s god damn out of control! What’s the definition of Insanity again??

Then came the 0-16. It was what true Lions Fans refer to as Rock Bottom. I believe they have a similar scenario in Alcoholics Anonymous. I think it’s part of your initiation to the program, not entirely sure but anyhow. . . . 0-16. A tale for your children’s children. The Great Depression. A season of lost hope, many fans retreated to their homes both defeated and denied. It was going to be a long off-season. But then, a glimmer of hope! Marinelli would be gone, the blame could be passed, we could start anew! Or so we thought. A quick 2-14 season later and we were finally in contention for the play-offs. 2011 with Megatron, Suh, Stafford. This amazing combination of talent alongside some of the best receivers and running backs in the game, the exceptional roster was bound to work, or so we thought. You forget, we are the Lions. First round- Out. 2012 Season., Nope. This year. . . . well lets just. . . .

Lions Winless Football

Fast forward to today. It’s Tuesday Morning. While you sit and read this, finally shaking your case of yesterday’s “Monday’s” let me just explain how my Monday went. In detail. Monday Night Football. Something us Detroiters refer to as a should-be local holiday, The Lions take the field with our playoff spot on the line. Defeat is non negotiable. . . the opponent- Defending Super Bowl Champs the Baltimore Ravens. #HA (Now, this is where the rest of the country knows we don’t stand a chance, but this is also the exact same moment when Detroit lights up with that “Lions Pride” and falsely assumes the unthinkable, a victory.) Yes, A Victory. Crazy you say? Sure if you’re not from Detroit. Typical? Completely, IF you are. Welcome to my life. . . and most others I know. While we have endured every negative aspect of the league and come to expect nothing but unfavorable calls, false starts and loose turnovers. .. our Lion Pride can’t die. So here we are watching the game:

It started with an early lead, and our defense held back every touchdown attempt, things were honestly looking good!. . . .But then things took a Lions turn for the worst and started going  horribly, horribly wrong:

SO There it is, a typical Lions loss. Going out in stellar fashion, holding us on until the bitter end. While I would love to tell you that I won’t be back next year, I will be. Hell I will be back on Sunday, crossing my fingers for a miracle that somehow both The Bears and The Packers both lose for the slight chance to still grasp the NFC North because that’s what Detroiters do. I mean what other reason is their to stand up every Sunday for the only team that’s never made it to a Super Bowl? (By the way it’s the only Final Jeopardy Question I’ve ever answered correctly!!) Yes, It’s a sick, sad, depressing disease but as my in-laws and husband have accurately determined, the “Scally Theory” is the best way to go when maintaining your fandom… “Never Too High” – ” Never Too Low”

Lion-King-and-the-Super-Bowl

In closing, I would like to thank the Lions and all of you crazy fuckers who support them. As I’m in no way shocked by your performance last night, I know you’re capable of much more. I appreciate that you come back and play each season despite however embarrassing it may be to sport the Silver and Honolulu Blue and I respect you for suiting up. Sure you’re getting paid boat loads of money and it’s really ALL your fault, but thanks anyhow. On a more serious note. #GetYourShitTogether. See ya Sunday!

Cheers!

Portable North Pole *

AHHH! So the Holidays have become one of my favorite times of year again, especially with a 2 year old running around!! (I’m not a big fan of cold OR snow but since becoming a mom I just can’t help but get excited playing “Santa”. I just wanted to take the time to share with you one of my all time FAVORITE features of this special time of year! I came across the website Portable North Pole in 2011-Paige’s first Christmas. It’s a FREE video that you create for your little ones to watch from Santa and his elves. It’s literally adorable and we’ve been doing it since her first Christmas (This is only her 3rd HaHa)! Each year I’ve gotten the reminder in my email and I just jump for joy!! It’s seriously SO fun and incredibly simple to produce. Screen Shot 2013-12-13 at 4.24.00 PM Once you get to the site just click on the “Start Here” button (It’s bright green, you can’t miss it!) and get started selecting all the options that apply to your little one(s). It’s so much fun making it personalized to fit each individual. The options are endless and they seem to fit almost any scenario. You even get to include what they’ve been asked to work on, no thumb sucking, potty training, eating your vegitables. . . .it’s all age related. (This year we asked Paige to stop throwing Temper Tantrums! LoL Terrible 2’s!) You also upload a photo, what state they live in, etc. and it turns out SO cute! Also, You can make as many FREE videos as you want (naughty, nice, multiple children, adults, etc)!! It’s addicting. We did a ton for everyone at my office the first year, it gets pretty entertaining, especially in the adult option. . . .   Screen Shot 2013-12-13 at 4.24.23 PM Screen Shot 2013-12-13 at 4.24.57 PM Screen Shot 2013-12-13 at 4.25.16 PM Anyhow. I just wanted to share with you what a finished video looks like. . . . you can share it via. email, Facebook, Twitter, link, etc. once you’ve finished. I typically email it to all the grandparents and post to Facebook. I’m sometimes “That” mom. . . but I can’t help it! It’s the cutest!! * To Watch Finished Video Click Here:  Santa’s Video To Paige!
